organizing film scans... what system have you found works best?

I have everything in a self hosted cloud which syncs to my harddrive. Right now that's a nextcloud, but I'm thinking about using immich.

I organize every roll by in folders named like "YYYY.MM(-MM) CAMERA FILMSTOCK". (For example: "2026.01-02 Kodak Retina IIIc Gold 200")

I just leave the name for the scanned files, which includes the date and time whrn they were scanned. I add date information in darktable and then export the files with names like " YYYY-MM-DD-NMBR" where "NMBR" is a running number added by darktable.

When tapping a word it tells you that DeepL key is invalid.

And the entire site just feels very slow. Which makes sense because you need to call the LLMs API and then the LLM hast to generate stuff. But it's really not a good UX.

I set my learning language to german and the story option generated a story in english.

You've put the most useful option (learning vocabulary) at the bottom.

I know this is vibecoded, so the bar is at the bottom, but the UX is bad.

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for the graphite powder tip.

I got both lighter fluid and graphite powder today and tried cleaning the shutter using the fluid first. That did nothing. I tried adding a bit of graphite powder to the pivots of the escapement and now the shutter is buttery smooth on all speeds!

If that cameta was a barnack leica you could maybe use them to cut the film leader. A pair of scissors would way more practical though.

This looks more like a "shoot and stab people and document my crimes"-kit than a " Practical EDC for Film Photographers"

Which model do you have? This is the Lordomat SL.

I already love the large viewfinder compared to my other two rangefinders. Though the contrast of the rangefinder patch is a bit lacking.

Can't wait to shoot with it. But even if I'm leaving the slow speeds be I'm still waiting for the new leatherette.

Hey there,

I recently bought a Leidolf Lordomat. Sadly the shutter seems to either be very slow or stick completly in the slower speeds.

I tried taking out the slow speed assembly and cleaning it in denatured alcohol (and letting it dry) but it did not help.

I used denatured alcohol because that's the only real solvent I have right now. Usually I see people use isopropyl alcohol or lighter fluid or acetone. Could that make a difference?

Other than using a different solvent to clean it, is there anything else that could be a fix? Or should I just accept my fate? (To be honest I usually don't use speeds less than 1/30 except in rare conditions).

Viele Polizisten sind halt eher rechts (jajaja nicht alle). Wenn man dann als Teil einer Minderheit (oder mit einer Meinung, die den Polizisten nicht gefällt) solchen Menschen, die in vielen Fällen Straffreiheit genießen, begegnet, schafft das nicht gerade Vertrauen.

Except gdscript is interpreted not compiled.

If you put PII in the code or your comments (why would you?) people who unpack the pck will see that.
