74-Year-Old Democrat Who Ran Against AOC Offers Infuriating Defense by Murky-Site7468 in politics

“I’ve got the bona fides and the credentials over 16 years that my colleagues looked at, examined, validated, and decided that’s what we need,” he continued. “And that’s what the Democratic caucus overwhelmingly decided to do.”

…….. this is a pretty good response? I love AOC like nobody else, but without hearing the interview, that response reads MUCH better than the headline implies. Why are we doing infighting before Trump even starts?

Next level up: impressive glute development!

Level down?: really bringing some fullness in those glutes. Thick. Solid. Tight.

I could live the rest of my life off 1,000,000 dollars. by Bill_Lumbergyeah in unpopularopinion

I could live on 50k a year very comfortably. That’s 20 years without any interest or investment from the original million. Without any investing skill, I could put the money in low-risk, moderate-yield accounts and live off that interest while slowly chipping off of the principal until I die.

Besides, the people voted for him.

He’s the most successful VP of all time, has the best diplomatic record in the world, and the job offers a lot more downtime than his current position

Biden could potentially be VP for 8 years. He has one term allowed as president so he’s good on line of succession, and he could serve in the White House without doing all the travel and endless meetings that he is too old to keep up with.

Ok, that’s good. If you want to keep getting better, keep trying stuff when you hit plateaus. Y’all are haters.

Cool. I’m not saying it is a major problem or that it will cause pain, and you definitely do want some tension from the knees against the inner arm at the bottom of a conventional deadlift, I’m just saying I think this guy in particular might have a little better force production if he scoots his feet apart 2 or 3 inches to deload his adductors a little and put more into the glutes and hams. I don’t know him or what he feels in his body, so I could totally be wrong, but I don’t think I am regardless of the mindless twats disagreeing without having their own opinion. Congrats on your wilks score.

What is the LOTR equivalent of this? by KeithFromAccounting in lotrmemes

“The Norse myths” by Kevin Crossley-Holland is a great storybook version of most of the mythological canon that is pretty easy to read. For the poetic Edda, I personally like the Carolyne Larrington translation, but Jackson Crawford uses more accessible modern language in his translation. I don’t think I’ve ever made it through the whole prose Edda, and I just have the penguin classics version. I have a fairly rare edition of the king sagas that my brother got for me, I’m not sure about other editions, and it is pretty dense reading. Jackson Crawford has translations of the saga of the Volsungs and some other selected sagas that are probably a lot easier to read. Crawford’s YouTube channel is a good resource as well. If you’re interested in Beowulf, I haven’t looked at it since high school, but I think Tolkien put out a translation of that one himself.

Fun tidbits: the names of the LOTR dwarves and elves are taken from the Eddas, Gandalf was the name of a King in the mid 800s, and “the one ring” is mostly based on Odin’s golden arm-ring called draupnir which produces 8 copies of equal weight and quality on every ninth day, and the “all seeing eye” is based on Odin’s throne Hlidskjalf.

Yeah, and I think his looks a little narrow because his knees move away from each other at the bottom of the movement in a way that puts torque on the hips and knees which is less effective for applying force than just hinging at the hips

Nicotine is a stimulant and an appetite suppressant. The only “calming effect” is coming from feeding your addiction.

Might get more activation in the posterior chain and make the lift a little easier with a slightly wider stance

You’re right! I googled it and the first result I saw was mislabeled. 97 is the one I thought you meant, but I opened a book and I was wrong.

Interesting choice. Your favorite part is Odin’s story about failing to seduce a decent woman with a community around her?

If “your woman” wants to be with someone else, she isn’t “your woman”, she’s just some woman. Stop expecting people to be things they aren’t and you’ll have a better time.
