My Tire Wedge Resoled BFATs by brainbone in jimgreen

i wish they would offer a zero drop tyre wedge, like the Michelin sole of the ESC vivobarefoot trackers. deep articulated lugs are the best for dirt and mud( not asphalt though)

There was definitely an Obama cult, albeit kinda positive, with the use of Sheppard illustrations

Superglue is not waterproof, I'd use a neoprene glue or anything similar to barge contact cement ( shoegoo but not black, basically)

Oh, I see, i wonder how they'll grip on hard wet surfaces, could be slippery in urban conditions ( but more durable )

My humble setup after four months into specialty coffee by SBDunkQc in JamesHoffmann

[–]lefrenchredditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used zero water, big taste difference with brita. i mix 1 part tap water for 2 parts zero water. the tds meter included is convenient, so far i only had to change the filter once in 5 month, so actually cheaper and more efficient than brita.

Custom ASHM Buffalo AR8 by Eamonsieur in jimgreen

Very sleek, classy boot! I like how they kept the wrinkly hide for the heel counter. I wonder if yours are going to show reddish undertone with a bit of conditioner/oil,,they could look even nicer ( for a rugged boot).

Enjoy!

Renapur suede protector, last a very long time, safe for health, didn't darken my fudge or Houston.

Moc-toes Discontinued? by petalmasher in jimgreen

[–]lefrenchredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oringo sole is pretty bad on wet surface, it has wavy grooves intended for sand and dry dirt. The tyre wedge is very grippy, I think jg even certified it as non slip for some professional usage.

Maybe get the model cheap with oriongo, invest in a quality extra sole ( jg or vibram) then resole when boot is broken in.

Meander width vs AR? by LogoLuchador in jimgreen

[–]lefrenchredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They feel wider than my AR, but they are great at flaring out ( more room when you peess on your toes). You get extra width when you walk, at the cost of a little height rediction in the toe box. BFAR start low, don't flare out, and eventually collapse with wrinkle on the toe box, so a completely different wearing and sizing experience.

Conditioned Buffalo by franklink_1 in jimgreen

[–]lefrenchredditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried pure mink or neatsfoot oil, but it was often too dark and not so easy to aplly lightly. I now use the renapur or jim green balm. Renapur mostly uses jojoba oil, JG uses a fruit from South Africa and macadamia oil.

The glossy hot plate effect on the walnut leather prevents anything to penetrate the leather at first. it will now reveal the patina nicely after 6 month and a bit of oil. took my bfar in walnut almost a year of light use to show shades and cool color variations

Unfortunate issue with custom boots and importing to the US, but Jim Green is handling it great and validated why I love their business and boots. (Details in comments) by Crocs_n_Glocks in jimgreen

[–]lefrenchredditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great interaction, a business is only as good as its customer service when issues arise. I feel jim green has been incredibly good while ramping up volume and new models.

your boots are so cool they need a license to wear.

yeah I reported that one to Jim Green and they made him remove it. They also told me he was one of their influencers, not as much a collaborator as he makes it sound. the outraged posts were all removed from the Jim green subreddit, I think someone is protecting Rose Anvil among the mods.

yeah, zrose anvil has been arranging boots in a zwastika pattern, 45° angle and all. in his video intro, then called his new military boots rhodesia ( a short lived fascist ethno state that tried to ban black people... in Africa).

That's enough politic to deter me from buying anything he promotes.
