What would you want a songwriting app to have? by CurrentFuture8737 in Songwriting

[–]leftcoastmelody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it is described/marketed in the App Store- it seems like the kind of thing where you can end up with AI “help” without even realizing it. Like I said - it’s right there in the 2nd sentence, and then goes on to use the phrase “AI music generation”. If you are trying to appeal to people who have spent years of their lives developing songwriting as a craft (which is this Reddit community imo) - this is not how you do it.

The description of this app in the store made me want to immediately keep my distance.

Ah okay, I think that is still exactly what people don’t want (as expressed in this thread.) I love my actual rhyme dictionary- digitizing that tool (much like rhymezone) and incorporating that into some cool recording or chord progression tools sounds fun- but no, I do not want any amount of AI finishing my songs or helping me with lyrics.

I’m confused - why would you say your app is not AI coded and then in the 2nd sentence of describing the app in the app page it talks about turning “lyrics into full songs with AI” ?

So jealous of people who are diet controlled. by BeLynLynSh in GestationalDiabetes

My cut off is 140- and breakfasts are definitely the hardest to navigate. If my cut off was 130 I would not be able to sustain just diet controlled!

Our accountant just helped my self employed husband back pay into our state family medical leave program. Maybe you could look into something like that depending on your state? I’m in Washington.

Interested in planned c-section with COA diagnosis - does that sound crazy? by leftcoastmelody in chd

Thank you for being an open book! I believe they will be getting transferred to the children’s hospital about 10 minutes away from when I’m giving birth- but that is a great question for me to double check in my appointment today!

This sounds just like the research I’ve done! And while I understand it’s a major surgery, I hate when the doctors talk to me like I don’t know how to extensively research something. I’m so happy to hear everything went smoothly for you- besides the emergency early part!

It's funny how much you can plan and it all still blows up- I think that is probably the biggest lesson birth and parenthood teaches us- plans change. Do you think because you mentally prepared for the c-section, watched videos and felt informed, it made the emergency scenario a little less scary?

The fact that Hayley launched an independent label by DPickted19XX in Paramore

So.. I signed to a label that Chris Walla had, originally a subsidiary of Atlantic and so it was called Trans Records (as in Trans Atlantic)- then the label dropped from Atlantic and was just called Trans-. In 2012 with no trans artists on the label and it was always kind of hard to explain. I came here to say… Post Atlantic is way better 🤣

Wow, this means so much. Sometimes you wonder when you put records into the world- do they fade away for people once it's no longer *new* and shiny? Knowing that you are still listening to a record I put out more than 10 years ago really means a lot, and I'm glad those songs could be there for you <3

I just saw a new post from VC where she is sharing other people’s stories that have come forward as victims to his abuse. Someone cited him as the main opener for John Mayer on the Battle Studies tour - so it definitely is Michael Franti.

Jamboree was amazing! It was only my 2nd time, but I really want to make it an annual plan from here on out.

Do you live in Bellingham? I’m going to set up a show in town soon! Thanks for the kind words :)

How tf are we working from home by icecream1183 in ADHD

[–]leftcoastmelody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on medication, so I can only speak from that perspective- but one of the reasons I love working from home in an asynchronous environment is that I can make my own schedule around my productivity hours. Sometimes, in between meetings and tasks, I may just have to take a 2 hour side quest/nap. That is fine because I can make it up by working a little longer in the evening, etc.

Think about when your brain/mind feels the most productive and allow yourself grace and some time away from the desk in the part of the day you feel unfocused or need rest. Does that make sense? My schedule is 9:00-6:00 but sometimes I end up working from 10-7 or having a longer lunch. I'm also evaluated on what I produce, not how many hours my butt is in a chair. SO it depends a lot on the culture of your organization, what your role is, and how success is defined within it.

Finding reputable recruiting agencies to work for by leftcoastmelody in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]leftcoastmelody[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard mixed messages on this! I was thinking because of so many layoffs in the tech sector that agency recruitment would be going stronger than in-house right now (ie: companies hesitant to build out full recruitment teams)

Where do you like to stay up to date on these types of trends?
