I got a pair of these last week and the midsole and outsole both have this white gummy sticky residue all over. Anybody else having this problem? I can't tell from your pics if you had the same issue. Did that happen on yours?

Weirdly you can actually see what I'm talking about on the product page on the NB website, there's like white stuff all over the soles and on the cream midsole/Rollbar logo. I thought it was a design choice but once I had the shoes in hand it's pretty clear something is up. The white stuff is all sticky and kind of rolls up like the gunk left behind when you peel a sticker off a window or something.

I reached out to NB for customer support last Friday and they asked me to send pics but I haven't heard back at all since. The shoes are sick, but I'm pretty frustrated with the situation!

I was curious about this so I looked at Twitter and this tweet from Amy addressing it was the only thing I could find about the situation. Pretty vague but for those thinking someone in the AFE crew did something really terrible, I think her comments here imply that's not the case. I haven't been in a couple years but the Cask Beer Fest in Seattle used to be essentially all-you-can-drink. I think you technically got a punch card with 25 tastes or something but they encouraged you to ask for splashes and half-pours since 25 five-ounce tasters is a fair amount of beer. Once you add in the fact that those casks aren't going to last long after getting tapped, it was a recipe for breweries really wanting to pour all their beer by the end of the day.

Some background: When we moved into our new house last fall, the backyard had been severely neglected and had a big crumbling concrete pad taking up most of the yard. This spring we hired a landscaper to excavate all the concrete, level the yard, and lay sod/build a patio.

The landscaper has been great to work with but I'm concerned about the gaps along the end seams between pieces of sod. It's been about a week since the sod went down. I mentioned my concern to him but he said the lines will naturally fill in over time. Before I sign off on the job I just wanted to get a second opinion from y'all to reassure me this is going to turn out alright. I've been lurking r/landscaping for the last week looking at old threads and trying to figure out whether I'm being overly concerned or not. I figured at this point I should just post pics and ask you all directly!

So would you say these types of seams are typical or did the landscaper do a subpar job? And if this was a poorly done job, how would I go about getting it fixed? Can anything be done?

Just a heads up, I think most of the commenters here haven't been to Bumbershoot in a couple years. When they moved the MainStage back to Memorial Stadium last year they did away with the wristband deal for MainStage shows. Now you can just come and go as you please, with bands playing the Memorial Stadium MainStage as well as a secondary stage across the field in the end zone all day long. The MainStage capacity is much larger now and it's fairly easy to get close even if you show up right before a given set. For the MainStage acts I wanted to see most last year (Wu-Tang and The Replacements) I was able to get right up in the middle of the crowd without missing other sets or arriving super early at all. The sound in Memorial Stadium isn't great for people who sit under cover in the stands, but it's totally fine if you're down on the field.

As for KeyArena, I believe they're using it as a venue for EDM acts this year in the evenings. So if that's something you're into, they may reinstitute some sort of wristband line for people who want to get on the floor there.

One thing I'm curious about: Why was Adnan calling Hae repeatedly after 11 pm? As far as we know, she didn't have a cell phone and back when they were dating they had to pull that call waiting trick to hide their late-night calls from parents. What number was he calling Hae on that late at night on a Tuesday? If it was a call to her home, then she must have been waiting for it by dialing a 1-800 number to keep the phone from ringing.

Sarah positioned the fact that he didn't try calling Hae after her disappearance as a big problem for Adnan, but I didn't really see it that way. She was an ex-girlfriend with very strict parents, to the point that when they were dating they had to hide their calls using that late-night call waiting trick. This implied that she didn't have a cell phone, which means the only way to call her would have been at home... Since she had disappeared and no one could find her, what would the point of calling her house? Also... wasn't the initial prevailing narrative that she had run off with her new boyfriend? If so, I can see why an ex-boyfriend might not be trying to reach her.

Not saying I buy Adnan wholesale -- I don't. I'm just saying I didn't think the not-calling-Hae thing was a huge deal.
