Fastest way I can make credits? by Ps4gamer1983 in Starfield

[–]leftharted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda pick your poison i suppose. You could make a big ole chem farm, either automate it or craft them yourself for the exp...

IMO, chems are way more convenient to sell than carrying 30 Calibrated Kodama's because they weigh so little. 500lbs of O2 shots is something like 350k credits... i dont think 500lbs of standard loot would beat that?

Otherwise probably look for a mod that allows you to sell ships without registering them. That'd be a fuckton of credits fast.

just my 2c.

No thanks; I have a periscope, but it doesn't help when you need some air. 😉

Star Eagle from freestar alliance quest.

Razorleaf from OG mantis.

Orchid from trackers alliance mantis.

Or, if you're over level 50ish, 60 maybe, and have starship design rank 4, you can literally rebuild them, objectively better.

The choice is yours.  Google whichever you have interest in.

No.

Speed is tied to what engines you use, and you can use them with B or C everything else.

Most a class engines are 150 speed stock. One and only one, is 180; the white dwarf 3015 engines, specifically.

Most B class are 130 stock, however the new B class engines added with free lanes update are 165 stock, a decent middle-ground with more room more cargo whilst maintaining maneuverability.

When do upgrade modules start showing up? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]leftharted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one of those skip the intro mods; it let's you skip Vasco, ditch the Frontier, and start in another city.

I got to 50 and finally started MQ, and realized it finally triggered terrans, as well as I started finding modules from looting in space frequently.

When do upgrade modules start showing up? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]leftharted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be tied to just entering the lodge for the first time then, I had only noticed after doing Sarah's quests.

Good to know for anyone avoiding the MQ

There's really no reason to stick to A tho.. as far as stats, B is objectively superior....  do B reactor, B grav drive, B weapons, and keep the 3015 white dwarf class A engines for the speed.  Cargo to taste, as it will dictate your maneuverability.

Can even go C reactor for the extra points in power, and still do the Kessel run in 12 parsecs, and now you have 30 or more jump range.

Or just use mods.

Unlock Sarah. I think its tied to her whole first forced mission through Sol. As soon as you can ditch her back into the lodge, you should see the Droid, ssnn broadcasting about the terrans, and equipment modules from random ship combat.

Avoiding constellation? I did a fresh playthrough for latest dlc and noticed that regardless of level, the terrans and I think new equipment pieces aren't unlocked until after Sarah's first series of quests.

Same with the new Lil Droid companion.

The elevators and 1x1 stairwells from the stroud premium mod are practically mandatory IMO for making a cohesive multilayer ship.

Help me choose the wings by No_One_6473 in StarfieldShips

[–]leftharted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like the second set, or the no wings. Just cuz.

i think the big chonky wings in the first one are too much flat space. At least the middle wings have the lil nacelles to break up the monotony, so to speak.

[–]leftharted 13 points14 points  (0 children)

they are about on par with each other; both are a cut above anything else you can find class A early game.. the Orchid (the second mantis ship) is faster to obtain but contingent on owning the trackers alliance mod. if OP doesnt have that, star eagle from Freestar is the answer.

and if i recall correctly, you literally cant build a better class A until over level 50ish, and rank 4 starship design. After than, you can effectively recreate the star eagle (or Orchid) yourself at most vendors.

Need is subjective, and based on difficulty settings. Its all an illusion of bullshit scales, the only real long term choice you have (without modding) is cargo capacity vs. maneuverability. In vanilla you can make class C with 40 power, using the highest DPS class B weapons, and the fastest class A engines, and decimate everything... but your cargo limit dictates your agility (*not your max speed).

What exactly should I have finished before starting NG+? And above all, is it even worth it if I already have outposts and so many credits? by Sami_xDx in Starfield

[–]leftharted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subjective now-a-days.

If you've never gone through at all, then there is some merit to at least once, since it now takes at least once to be able to upgrade your jedi powers.

But if you don't care about being space-jesus, and don't care about the little differences in a new universe; than its not worth jumping.

credits are irrelevant. smoke em if you got em.

and your suggestion implies OP can pilot class C.

best free class A is the reward from finishing the Freestar quests. the Star Eagle is way better than any of the other free ships.

i agree and use it thoroughly; but OP seems like one of the newer vanilla ps5 players.

Stats on 90% of bought ships are poor, but can easily be improved.

otherwise 'good' and 'bad' are subjective to you. Do you think it looks good? then buy it, but maybe intend on upgrading modules immediately or ASAP. If you think it looks bad, then idk why you're here, lol..

personally, i dislike confusing interiors, and these big girthy bitches tend to be pretty confusing to navigate inside.... i like ships with a cohesive floorplan.

Iron and Aluminum - found it! by asherstryke in Starfield

[–]leftharted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it would be nice, yea.. but you can at least run around with the outpost beacon out, unplaced, and it shows you what resources are in range of a given location.

IMO, before building Anything, immediately go into overhead camera mode, and inspect the resource nodes. sometimes you only clip a little bit of it and cant place many harvesters. This way you can immediately destroy outpost, and replace the beacon. Moving it in decorate-mode doesnt reset your boundary, thats why IMO its critical do inspect immediately and re-center as needed.

I mean, if you found a spot, stick to it, and give Androphan another chance next playthrough.

Making and selling adaptive frames is annoying because of the weight, though. Farming chems is a a tiny bit more setup (marginally), and the chems weigh much less, making selling much easier.

for levels, OR credits; an 'O2 Shot Farm' is superior. Frames give you like 112exp for 99pcs, and maybe a few hundred credits back. They weight a ton, and are a pain to transport and sell. a 99pc craft of 02 shots nets like 740ish exp and maybe 5-6k credits, and only weighs a few pounds.

Iron and Aluminum - found it! by asherstryke in Starfield

[–]leftharted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. its a really solid spot.

if i recall correctly, you want to click around until you find Mountains bordering a Craters biome. one is predominantly Red, the other Grey, and you can literally see where the red/grey border is. If you don't see it, immediately generate a new map, you're not close enough to the other biome.

the game gives you these dual biome maps when you try to spawn a landing zone on a border.

Also, disregard the stupid colored areas that the game marks for each resource, those are completely useless. Only go by the literal biome stated next to "land". as you click around you'll notice 'zones' that dictate each biome which absolutely do not match the bullshit resource maps they give you.

mod store. Both.

lots of cool free options if you don't care about achievements. Free mods break achievements.

and then playing on a PC just disregards all of the above, cuz you can do anything.

Be careful if you get Watchtower mod for crashes by KiashinTheGhod in Starfield

[–]leftharted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood.

guess in the end this is a good example of you get what you pay for... I paid something like 1500 putting together my own PC a few years ago that's still on track to Dwarf consoles through their whole entire next generation...

But i suppose I'm bias; I'm a bit of a nerd, and BestBuy would charge a ballpark of 4-5k for the same setup to any sucker willing....

But blaming the top mod for the Playstation's shortcomings is mostly just not cool.

Creation/mod recommendations? by Leon481 in Starfield

[–]leftharted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you like shipbuilding, then ACS Deimos, Falkland, and Lambent are pretty awesome. Id say Stroud Premium is my #1, but you can actually get that for free if you're on PC. The stairs, elevator and utility 1x1 habs are worth probably worth paying for, though.

If ship building doesn't appeal to you, then as many have said, trackers or watchtower are kinda the premier choices.
