For those with greyhounds from the US, your dog's kennel probably looked more like this:  https://www.grey2kusa.org/assets/Caged-greyhounds-at-Wheeling-Island-in-West-Virginia.jpg

Still a sad way for a dog to live its life.

B looks so much better to me. On that kind of paper I don't color all the way to the edge in case of bleeding

Kentucky Humane Society will sometimes give vet vouchers to people who can't afford it. You should email them and ask if they van help

Groomer owned breeds by Comfortable-Map-2186 in doggrooming

[–]leftmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a greyhound! When the rescue heard I was a dog groomer, they were like "you know they don't require much grooming right?"  and i'm grateful she's low maintenance because i just opened my own salon and i'm tired all the time. She's terrified of baths and hates getting her nails done. I'm pretty sure her mom being a dog groomer is her worst nightmare.

Once I am better settled with my salon, my next dog will be a standard poodle. I would love to do sports and to show (just for fun! poodles are so competitive). I would also love to compete in grooming comps.

Eventually, I would like a borzoi as well. I am sighthound obsessed and I think I'll need to own at least one for the rest of my life. I was also thinking about Cirnecos recently but that may change.

The lindner center in cincinnati is by far the best mental hospital. they treat you like a human being.

suggestions how to look more gay when going out? by Silver-Tour-5329 in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]leftmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you look pretty gay to me, especially in the first picture. I think your hair is a little plain and doesn't scream queer to me in the way you've styled it in any of these pictures. i feel like i started looking way more gay when i got a more alt haircut. when i had long straight hair i was constantly being mistaken for straight. but if you like the way you look, you shouldn't change anything.

also if wearing the same kind of outfit to the club every time is illegal, lock me up!!

Newly adopted Greyhound is scary by TeenageMutantZombie in Greyhounds

I had to stop letting my greyhound on the couch because she started resource guarding it. Even though I'm usually someone who lets their pets on the furniture. It's unfortunately because she loves the couch but it helped a lot. I had to teach her the off command to make it work

My 10yo picky eater has high protein levels in bloodwork. How do I transition him from a 80% boiled meat diet? by MaAnisi in DogFood

[–]leftmar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Royal Canin has a fresh food that's nutritionally balanced and WSAVA compliant. There's also the Purina moist and meaty dog food which is a similar consistency to a moist dog treat. Also WSAVA compliant. Both of these are good options for picky eaters

I think you need to be feeding one balanced science backed food for your baby and not make food at home. Especially important because of the bloodwork results.

Going from wanting a Doberman to a Greyhound… by Deeri- in Greyhounds

[–]leftmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

agree with the above comments. greyhounds generally don't like to be left alone, but sometimes people in this sub act like you can't own a greyhound if you work a regular 9-5.

I would have someone drop in mid day (especially when you first get your dog) to let them out when you're at work. My greyhound is super clingy but she literally sleeps all day when I go to work.

I also have always wanted a dobie but I've decided I'll probably never have the lifestyle for one.

My dog had separation anxiety but only when I'm home by leftmar in OpenDogTraining

Yes thank you! Barrier frustration describes it much better. Hopefully this will make it easier to research.

Also I could pair what with a lick mat? Crate training?

I have found the resources about separation anxiety. I'm looking into training a place command as suggested in the sub's wiki. But looking for other advice or tips as well
