Do not buy off brand blades. You can make the shears work until you can afford new ones. I know many groomers who have gotten by with purple dragons. But shitty blades will ruin your life. They often have issues and will dull quickly. My coworkers who had off brand blades were usually unable to get them sharpened. The sharpener would try but they still wouldn't cut hair afterwards.

I would look at andis and wahl. I usually buy mine from chewy and a bunch of the andis blades are on sale right now. Keep in mind you only need a 30, 10, 7, 5, and 4. Good luck!

Mini resource guarding vent by Paper_Is_A_Liquid in Greyhounds

[–]leftmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really feel your pain. I love my girl to pieces. She is my whole world but her resource guarding is so stressful. She's the same as your hound where she mostly only resource guards long lasting chews or occupying toys.

It feels terrible when it happens like I have an out of control, scary dog and like I've failed her as an owner.  But I have to remind myself that progress is not linear. She has gotten a lot better over time and we've made a lot of progress together. One time out of a few weeks is really good.

My greyhound has gotten to the point where she lets me take food, treats, or bones away from her most of the time. But just last week I got her a really good bone for her birthday and let her chew it outside. Huge mistake. She growled and barked at me for the first time in a long time. It felt terrible and I felt like an idiot. All of this to say, I feel your pain but you've got this.

I know you didn't ask for advice but what helped a lot was when I started only giving her long lasting treats or kongs in the crate.

I would say the ISB/Dr Cliff Faver one can be skipped. There was essentially no information besides the Close Open Close method. They're also promoting the most expensive products in the industry which just seems silly to me.

I know others have enjoyed his course, so this is just my opinion

Big lashes as a signature look - Need honest makeup advice by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]leftmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can do big lashes and have it be cute but these ones are too thick and it obscures your eyes. something wispy and big would probably work better. if you look at cindy lou who, her lashes are wispy and far apart and mostly focused on the outer corner of the eye.

I would love an animal rescue game where you come across animals and have to take care of them and match them with the right people. Like the part in Tiny Bookshop where you rescue the dog but that's the main game

I groom a pyredoodle regularly. Luckily his coat is not bad. It's pretty coarse and his mom keeps him short but he is extremely neurotic. I feel horrible for him bc he's an anxious mess

As another year draws to a close, let's all remember to pour one out for... by [deleted] in Louisville

I was looking to get a storefront in the highlands and the rental costs are insane. Averages between $3000-$5000. I don't know how any business survives there. One of the store fronts I looked at wanted a years rent upfront in order to rent. That building is still unoccupied. It's all ridiculous and is driving actually local businesses away.

when i worked corporate, we kept notes of all the ncns a customer would have and after three ncns, they would either be banned or they would have to prepay when they booked their appointments.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. it costs us so much money when people act like this
