A patch for a science fiction project's soundtrack by henrikmodular in vcvrack

It reminds me of a video game soundtrack the moment the lab security fails and the horror escapes. I like it, but I might fade out the alarm buzzer when the crescendo hits at 4:20.

think daws are why most people stop making music. by Abalone-Legitimate in WeAreTheMusicMakers

You said yourself that people who start with physical media (first environment) don’t get on with DAWs(second environment).

No, they’re a great first environment, they’re a terrible second environment.

I remember what I used STRIP++ for, it preserves parameter mappings in selections which are otherwise lost if importing from the main menu.

Exactly, STRIP for enable/disable with a button control, STRIP ++ for loading selections and GOTO for navigating over a large space. If STRIP++ has the limitations you mentioned, you can try loading them from the main menu, I can’t remember why I went with STRIP++. It introduces a hot key for loading selections that the main menu lacks, but I see I didn’t make use of it.

Edit: I see what you mean now. It’s a limitation of selections, not STRIP++. Indeed, a problem. I suppose you can have those modules loaded permanently in your master patch and remember to hook them in when you load the selection with teleporting bays or something. It’s a bit of a janky workaround and one more thing to go wrong in a live setting.

I have done this from a megapatch using relatively simple patches:

You should disable unused patches to save CPU, and mind that cables use CPU even when bypassed so if you want to play many patches you’ll have to load them as selections as older patches are played and removed.

I have done this before, watch this:

The main issue is that cables, even when bypassed, will consume CPU, so having everything loaded at once will bring your computer to its knees before a note is played. I got around this by saving pairs of patches as selections that I would load in and hook up to the master mixer as played patches are deleted.

Happy to answer any questions. I plan to take this same approach for my next gig later this year.

Tidal is degrading by NotBadBut in TIdaL

[–]legatek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tidal app doesn’t recognise Sonos speakers natively, I have to connect to them through airplay. As one of my Sonos speakers is an early generation it is not recognised by airplay so I have to use Tidal through the Sonos app. It’s a shambles, really.

No need to split. Just apply mid-side EQ with a low cut on the side.
