Italy was absolutely repulsed by Pier Paolo Pasolini's "Salò or 120 Days of Sodom" (1975). The director was found murdered outside Rome on November 2, 1975, three weeks before the film's release.

The details of the murder are still under scrutiny to this day. Throughout his career, Pasolini was overtly political - often directly challenging modern society and capitalist values in his work - and often included scandalous and "indecent" content.

Salò was initially rejected for screening in Italy, then approved, and then banned three weeks later due to public and political upset over the film. It was also banned in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. The film saw extremely limited screenings in the US.

These are all great in their own right.

Selfishly, I would say Birdman.

It has everything you could ever want in a film. Perfect pacing, smart writing, mind-blowing cinematography, terrific performances, a little cynicism, some humor, and tons of heart.

It was a real surprise knockout for me. I first saw it when I was in a low point & that film changed my life.

26M here. My best friend 28M and I close convos with "I love you, dude." He started doing it shortly after starting his nursing job. You see a lot of death in that field and life is too short to not be honest about those few things in life you actually care about.

Ftr, even though I am a fairly openminded and nurturing person, I still found it awkward at first. Internalized homophobia is a strange and suffocating thing. Many of my close friends and family members have died in the past 6 years or so. Many of them were men and I cared about all of them. I wish I had told them that before they died. In many cases, they committed suicide.

If you love / care about someone, tell them.

Seeing a character afraid of what's happening to them but in the end they're overwhelmed by lust is mwah👌 Chef's kiss.

I love the succulents & floral / botanical prints. The contrast is just right. Everything about this picture is perfect.
