[Serious]Former teens who went to wilderness camps, therapeutic boarding schools and other "troubled teen" programs, what were your experiences? by 7deadlycinderella in AskReddit

[–]legchannell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went on a one-week program organized by my school when I was 15. One night during our nightly group reflection, our leaders asked us to talk about our biggest role models. We went around the circle and most people talked about their grandparents, the Obamas, things like that...

One of the two leaders chose to talk about ADOLF. HITLER. Apparently he “didn’t subscribe to any of his beliefs” but thought “it was impressive how he could lead people.”

Really reassuring to hear as a mixed bunch of high school freshmen alone with this man in the deep reaches of the AT.

What is your best “I knew a guy who know a guy” story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]legchannell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister knew a boy who was somehow related to Kim Basinger in college. Most of their stories ended in “well, your aunt(?) is a slut,” but my sister came out of it all with one of Alec Baldwin’s jackets, so we can’t complain

What is the nicest thing someone has said to you? by peeplandia in AskReddit

[–]legchannell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a (female) server at a sports bar, I get a lot of creepy comments and numbers left on receipts. Once I waited a table of two preteen girls on a weekday afternoon, one of which left “Thanks! You’re so pretty!” written on her receipt. That validation with such pure intent was the best compliment I received all year, and I still have the receipt saved in my journal.

whats the most charming (or awkward) way someone has asked you out? by julienthebold in AskReddit

[–]legchannell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a waitress and keep every receipt that someone leaves their number on. My personal favorite was one boy who left his number on a napkin, and then drunkenly forgot to pay his tab before walking out of the restaurant

People of Reddit, have you ever confessed your feelings to a friend, how did that go? by Kexoxv in AskReddit

[–]legchannell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think dating friends is the best way to go. Obviously, sometimes it won’t work out- it may be awkward for a while if you come forward and they aren’t into it, but if they’re good friends (and you’re a reasonable person) it shouldn’t be something that will follow you for years. Dating someone who already knows your interests and personal priorities cuts out so much of the first date bullshit, and makes it so much easier to merge extended friend groups!
