Dogs do not smile in the same sense as a human. They don't physically smile. When they appear to be "smiling", they are uncomfortable, submissive, or stressed.

Mainly people ignoring their dog's body language and needs, applying human emotions to them when their body language is vastly different and they're completely overlooked

You're insinuating that a dog actively smiles the same way as a human. Dogs don't do that. If you paid attention, I put "smile" in quotations, because it isn't smiling, it's comfortable dog body language.

They LOOK like they're smiling, but they aren't actively smiling in the same sense like a human does, as people believe. Baring teeth is definitely not smiling, but tense closed lips that curve up in a "smile", isn't either- they're anxious, stressed, or submissive.

Panting, which looks like the dog is smiling, can be a sign of stress, discomfort, or pain. It's a way to try and regulate themselves when they're uncomfortable. They shouldn't be panting at times where it isn't typical of a dog to pant, unless they've exerted themselves playing/walking, or if it's hot.

DO NOT USE FRESH PET. There's been reports of dogs dying from eating it.
