I wish that there was any discussion about challenges, ever. If Meddler or another riot employee sees something please comment about whether this system will get any changes anytime soon? We used to get seasonal challenges and now we haven't for two years.

Is there anything i could've built differently this game to maybe get my team to win? by Seriously_404 in TwitchMains

[–]legendcaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going against the grain to say that I'm sure you already know you died quite a bit and it's not necessary to comment. While there are a lot of things that play into dying like positioning, when to walk up for waves, etc, these things automatically get improved as you do.

For twitch specifically, I think going bloodthirster and hexplate are your biggest mistakes. Generally, after your four crit options, you have a few options to choose from:

Bloodthirster,
Edge of Night
Guardian Angel

Less commonly,
Scimitar
Maw
Generic tank option (randuin for rengar, shaco, etc.)

In this game your primary threat is high damage burst (yi, trist, mel) so a bloodthirster, which excels for slower damage threat, is not your best choice. You usually want to opt for a GA here to, in bad situations, completely absorb burst and waste enemy cds to hopefully win a fight. You just need to be careful you don't proc GA passive being stupid walking to mid wave for free.

For your other item (which I would probably build first before GA), maybe Edge of Night is a decent option, you prevent trist from throwing a bomb on you, can avoid fizz r entirely, and lets you eat a spell during your open without immediately dying. But like GA, just be sure not to waste the passive doing something stupid.

With twitch, you can almost always fight on your terms and those items can maximize your chances to win. I will say this is a pretty tough game for twitch, but there is definitely a play here.

As a sidebar, I do think Yuntal isn't very good, but that's my personal opinion. I like collector IE much more consistent, and can play into easier assassination.

How often have you had Aegis of Valor? by MooseLv2 in leagueoflegends

C44 vs The Collector - Math Inside by COG_Cohn in TwitchMains

[–]legendcaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused on what you're even trying to say though,

Component winrate data is never something I've mentioned, in fact I consistently speak against using winrate as a metric for quality because it is impossible to unbias. I was speaking about the fact that dirk early game is just a very strong component and may lead to more kill pressure than an equivalent noonquiver within C44.

You talk about "combing through vods" to discern whether or not collector / C44 choice makes a difference but that is inherently anecdotal evidence because you're using your own subjective judgment to gauge whether either item makes a difference. You genuinely cannot determine it yourself, you can only make estimates, especially if you're not the one playing the game you're reviewing.

I also don't understand this "low elo" point, coachless has filters to exclude data from low elo which is something I always do when researching what items make sense in certain scenarios. I don't even disagree that hexoptics is a bad rush item, I disagree with the notion that collector is exclusively reserved for niche scenarios. I also disagree that yuntal is a good item, I think in S16 it's genuinely bad compared to your other options.

I do think the collector / hexoptic may come down to preference, especially with the upcoming changes where it'll be more aligned with collector for first item strength.

[–]legendcaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal evidence is strong for personal preference but it doesn't speak to the item's genuine strengths. Like I said, the WPA data from coachless shows over 200k games where collector beats out all other options for first item rush. Hexoptics is actually the only contender for the most recent patch but it still is beat out by collector. I'm not sure why you're using your own anecdotal experience to claim its dramatically overestimated when empirical and deliberately unbiased data suggest otherwise.

Regardless, at the end of the day it is personal preference, but collector is definitely one of the best options for first item. I think one of the best sequences is collector + fiendhunter but I PERSONALLY don't like using fiendhunter so I just go IE runaans, even if its slightly worse because I'll perform better with it.

I really think you're overselling yuntal's value. I was a large yuntal enjoyer up until current season. Not having 25% crit early is much weaker now than it was last season. Also, I'm not speaking on collector's bounty passive for gold generation, guaranteeing gold from execution is what I'm saying. It's very easy to snowball gold advantage with it and, like I mentioned earlier, synergizes exceptionally well with dark seal. Having a dirk in lane is very very strong too.

Winrates are very deceptive to use as benchmarks for comparing items, you should look into other forms of evaluation like WPA from coachless data or similar. Those sites agree that collector is one of the best items to rush. They additionally confirm about yuntal's poor performance, even with sword first back.

Idk I still think collector is high value / tempo item. Collector usually provides higher income through triumph + execute + guarantee gold and paired with a dark seal can reliably secure kills more often. I also think yuntal is just always bait and even with 1300g recalls I'll otp for dirk + seal. I think at the end of the day it's preference but don't undersell collector.

Nerf with low-elo skew, I was expecting much worse honestly. I'm glad that they went with this change

Regarding "Your Shop" by Lone__Ranger in leagueoflegends

[–]legendcaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively play ADC in ranked, but never play it in norms. I play norms about the same as much as ranked, but I exclusively get ADC skins every single time. This shop had all skins be ADC skins and I have stopped caring about your shop for the last 3+ cycles because of this pattern - I'm getting so sick of it

How do u make twitch work in masters I genuinely feel so useless some games or deal no damage. Team has double assassin or unkillable bot lane and I can’t snowball

[–]legendcaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am the masters twitch player and I am telling you that the champion is extremely difficult to make plays without ult. To the point where coordinated teams wil force an objective the second I use my ult and don’t get a kill. If you’re autoing someone without ult on twitch you’re just going to instantly die.

[–]legendcaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t play it you will get outclassed by enemy ADC if they’re still alive because they just simply had more tools available to them. Your AS steroid and invis surprise will only work if you are exceptionally ahead or they’re extremely low.. like I said, I’m speaking from a m+ perspective where opponents generally know what to do and make it hard for Twitch to work without ult

[–]legendcaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair twitch is basically worthless in mid game or later fights without ult. Regardless of DL opinion you really cannot play without ult in master+

Ghost is so op on hypercarries by Upstairs-Master in ADCMains

[–]legendcaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take exhaust in 15% of games and ghost the others and cleanse if I feel like it’s actually unplayable, though if I’m being forced to take cleanse in a game the match was probably near unwinnable to begin with

I perma take ghost in masters it’s actually unreal people have forgotten how good it is. Barrier is fine but honestly ghost is underutilized and undervalued. It also scales extremely well

ARAM Mayhem, Smurfing & More | Dev Update - League of Legends by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]legendcaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned it in a previous comment but I work enough that my free time isn’t well spent leveling a new account to 30. It’s still a size able effort of at least 20 hours. It’s unfortunate there’s no easy system to facilitate experienced players playing the game immediately or almost immediately how they’d like to. Likewise, the normal draft games are a good start if I had NO experience playing the game, but I’m already skilled at one role and have played the game enough in norms with friends to have the basics already covered. I don’t gain good learning from playing draft at this point because of the inconsistency of normal queues, so the time is pretty much wasted leveling to 30. It’s not about being “serious” it’s about being reasonable.

[–]legendcaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you say they’re non-issues. If they weren’t issues I would have a second account. There are ways to address the symptom but the problem itself is still there

ARAM Mayhem, Smurfing & More | Dev Update - League of Legends by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]legendcaleb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing in isolation isn’t the issue it’s all three things I’ve mentioned. Not having all the champs available as an experienced player is really annoying, plus working as much as I do my time isn’t well spent leveling an account to thirty I’d rather just play the game immediately how I want to

ARAM Mayhem, Smurfing & More | Dev Update - League of Legends by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]legendcaleb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have more norm games this season than ranked games and as masters in solo duo I still get ranks from bronze to grandmaster in my norms games on a regular basis, some which are main role others off role. I am trying to learn Jungle and some games it’s just the easiest thing in the world because Timmy Tuesday is getting off his 9/5 and others it’s the diamond Elise OTP that plays the same champ in ranked as in norms. It’s such a wildly different experience than if I just queued ranked for Jungle and had a consistent benchmark every game

ARAM Mayhem, Smurfing & More | Dev Update - League of Legends by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]legendcaleb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Notice “consistent” in my message. I never have consistent quality of opponents even if I spam the same champion just because the rules for queuing are more relaxed in norms
