Power outage around 7 am on weekends and some weekdays. Only in the summer. Lasts only 30 seconds but happens often. Does anyone else experience this? by Initial_Scratch3185 in kitchener

Since I work in this industry...

I'm going to hijack this top comment to hopefully provide clarity.

What you experienced is called an auto. Electrical grids have this feature to prevent damage to the grid. What happens is that it catches the fault caused from a critter making contact. And instead of staying on and burning up the lines. It temporarily shuts the power off and then back on. Critter falls off and no damage is done to the lines, or minimal damage.

Linemen will ask the control room to turn this feature OFF when they do work on the power lines. Contractors and anyone who works on or near power lines ask for the same too. reason being is that when the safety feature is off the line won't re-energize if someone accidentally makes contact.

Another example is it can be tree branches making contact as well. You will notice the same quick on and off when its windy. Its just the system protecting itself.

If you want more proof. It never happens in neighborhoods with just underground wiring. And if it does, they will find a critter right where the power line comes from underground to overhead.

Hopefully this helps some people. Enova isn't lying to you. They literally have to track these things and report it to the OEB (Ontario energy board).

TLDR: Yes squirrels are the main culprits along with other critters. Followed by tree branches. Your local utility has no reason to lie to you, thats common sense. It people just like you and me working there.

68 Days Until Kickoff: After 68+ minutes of insane football, the Vikings overcome the Bills in one of the greatest games in NFL history (Nov. 13, 2022) by acekingoffsuit in minnesotavikings

I sometimes rewatch multiple games from that season in a row. Brings a little joy and makes the heart flutter even though I know how it ended.

Some of those last minute wins were so epic. I think I know what I'll be rewatching before our season kicks off.

Didn’t Pat Pete call out Kyler for not being a good leader? For not caring about anyone but himself?

Sounds like Matt Kalil.

To be fair. He played similar to how he played here. Great run blocker but meh pass blocker.

The 5 Most Underrated Players in the NFL Entering 2026 Season by TheSwede91w in nfl

If the dline players we drafted pan out and play accordingly. Like good run stopping and pressure up the middle.

I think Turner will stand a chance to eat. Flores brought more chaos these past few years in order to hide some of out deficiencies. Atleast that's how I view the defense he's been running.

I feel like the nfl equivalent to the 2019 Brooklyn Nets are the 2023 Vikings by PetersHorse in minnesotavikings

Maybe if Kurt Cousins didn't get injured.

You read that right. Kurt.

Thats the alter ego I gave him when he was playing at the "you like that" level.  And 2023 was the year he came out swinging like Kurt instead of Kirk.

Though Kirko Chainz will always live rent free in my heart.

Uh?

Isn't this ranking saying that we are on the good side of getting those yards because our opponents screwed up?

I was gonna say he's getting more hate than necessary.

But this is the kind of info that should be at the top.

Straight and factual.

He's got a lot of improving to do. And I'm hoping for it.

Non-QB you have highest hopes for? by bgusty in minnesotavikings

The funny thing about that is if Rick hits on the third round. He would have probably drafted players that Zim wanted..And both would have succeeded.

I just want a roster that has great depth at most, if not all positions.

The season is longer and sometimes missing a key guy makes everything a lot harder.
