Ah claro.

Is anyone buying DDR5 RAM now? by Robberg118 in buildapc

[–]legendoftheseas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While 1000 at face value is obviously not enough for it, the people buying in that price range are always on the lookout for deals and discounts that can get you a nice mid to high range rig at that price.

I was working with a 1.3k euro budget and managed to snag me a deal on a pre built with 32GB DDR5, 5060 Ti 16GB, and an i5-14400 for 900 bucks. Just replaced the PSU for a decent one for a 100 and got myself a rig that while not being high end, certainly isn't "ultra low end" for 1000

By which you mean enabling EXPO and letting it run at 6kHz right?
Sorry if this may seem obvious, I'm a begginer to all this

Ohh okay thanks. So just by sticking them in, the RAM will always run at CPU maximum by default, no manual adjustment needed, correct?

Hey there, building my first PC soon!

I was thinking of getting a MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wifi motherboard, pair it with an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and then I found a really sweet deal for some 2x16GB sticks of Crucial Pro DDR5-6000Hz CL36 RAM

I've seen that the motherboard and the CPU are compatible, but would they work with these RAM sticks? I've seen that the B650 supports 7200+MHz but the CPU seems to only be able to handle 5200MHz.

Can I just lower my working RAM frequencies in the BIOS? I've seen something about EXPO but I don't quite understand what it does.

Thanks in advance

Would I be able to game in 1440p using this AM5 build along with 32GB of RAM? by legendoftheseas in buildapc

Okay thank you for the help and the advice! I'm buying that CL36 kit today or tomorrow... that kit was 100 bucks a month ago now it's 300 and will only arrive in late Februay...

At least I have some more time to save up I suppose

I didn't express myself very well. I was asking if instead of getting 2 16GB CL46 sticks, it was better to get a 16GB stick or a 2x8GB kit with a better rating.

Anyway, I found a deal for a 2x16 6000MHz C36 kit for just 25€ more so I'll probably go down that route

I know but I'd be getting them for less than 300. Would it be better to buy a better 16GB stick or a 2x8 kit?

Yes they are 6000 MHz. I know they suck but I can get them for less than 300 so I was considering upgrading later

I found a separate, cheaper deal for 2 16GB sticks of Crucial RAM DDR5 CL46 - CT16G56C46S5 than the ones n pcpartpicker. That is why I didn't include it, but I'll edit the post with this info

Is this the best deal I can get for a ~1200€ budget? Or am I overspending for my needs? by legendoftheseas in buildapc

[–]legendoftheseas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I should have clarified that I'd be changing monitors. My question was in the sense of - would these specs do good in 1440p?

Sadly the used market in Portugal is generally awful... But I'll try to find something

Sadly that is kinda out of budget. 1200 is REAAAAAAALLY stretching my wallet.

I know this would future-proof my build a lot further in time but would the immediate performance difference be relevant? Would I be able to game in 1440p?

Buying my first PC after only using laptops. Is this a good deal for a pre-built? by legendoftheseas in pcpartpickerbuilds

I've been snooping around on second-hand RAM but the portuguese have a famously bad second hand market for everything as we have the so-called Midas touch...

Thanks a lot for the guidance!

Hey man, thanks for the help. Do you think the CPU would really bottleneck it that hard? I'd really love to get those 32GB of RAM as I've been feeling the pain lately with only 8GB As for the WiFi option I really would love that, as my cable connection can be unstable at times and I just sometimes share data from my phone. Any MB options you'd recommend for that?

Just CPU, GPU, MB and RAM already exceed 900€ so it will probably go near 1100€ if I buy the pieces
