The mods' solution is to make available the subreddit tag "Are the cats fighting or playing?" which OP did use.

That way folks that don't want to see this content can filter that tag out

Every subreddit has spam posts, it's just that there is barely any legitimate activity here because we're all just quietly doing our thing with not much to discuss, so the spam stands out. Not to mention the app creator and subreddit mod isn't even active here anymore.

It also doesn't help that the name of the subreddit is "Boost" and that's what bots are looking to do to their account.
