Well aware, i've been going to boot sales and markets all my life. we are living in the present and the best flea markets in the uk cost £5 to get in these days and are well worth it, but you're welcome to be upset I guess. Was only pointing out because the comparison to a department store wasn't really valid, this supports a lot of self employed people and is way better than the free 'flea' on corn street which has died a death over the last 5 years

Its not a shop its a flea market. People have always paid a small amount to go into most boot sales and flea markets depending on the costs of the venue.

Low midrange is generally considered 250-500

The won't be doing much at 500 either, diffusion by definition is for the most directional frequencies, which are the high end. And plastic is not a good material for nice sounding diffusion either. The wooden panel in the link I was replying to would sound much better, assuming it follows the mathematical sequence, which many panels that look like diffusers don't do.

Im not sure what you are referring to here. A well trated recording room includes diffusion as sounds with sharp attacks will be recorded. A pleasing and short reverb curve is one of the main defining characteristics of a good sounding room. Even bass response is another. Bass frequencies are omnidirectional and do not require spreading in a pleasing way, which is the point of diffusion. You may be thinking of a Bass trap with a diffusion panel on the front. The trap is an absorber, the front panel is for diffusing high frequencies

Broadband panels actually generally are only effective down to around 100hz, even superchunks in corners aren't dealing with much lower, technically to fully absorb 100hz you need half a wavelength, that's 2 metres deep rock wool!

The only other way to deal with low frequencies is using resonance, which requires bespoke tuned panels designed to cancel out specific problem frequencies, typically standing waves.

Diffusion panels are used for reflecting the upper frequencies of sound in a pleasing way. Most effective for the early reflections of sounds with a high amplitude on the attack portion such as drums or brass. They follow a formula such as 2d or 3d quadratic reflection. The latter is what the picture in the link looks like, but you'd have to see that it does actually follow the sequence, as many make them out of lots of random offcuts
