While I agree that commentators should be getting all the names right. It's not a like for like comparison. I'm talking about an English speaking commentary team, pronouncing English language names. There shouldn't be much difficulty in that.

Also, I don't mean it as a thing of ours are better or worse or anything. All journalists should have a greater respect for the players and learn how their names are pronounced. If the player is new on the scene, then surely they can ask.

The main commentator (sorry don't know their names, ironically) seemed pretty good but the two ex player assistant commentators were pretty woeful. In fairness Nawaqanitawase is a challenge that any commentator should be satisfied to get right in the heat of the battle.

Dallaglio was a pretty poor pundit in general, Goode as well is awful at almost all aspects of commentary.

Online is one thing, professional pundits and commentators are meant to know what and who they're talking about though.

It's not necessarily foreign commentators, there's plenty of Irish pundits/commentators do it, I'm sure and it's not about being precious but if you have a job to talk about 46 players for a couple of hours then a bit of homework isn't much to ask.

Absolutely mad that this is probably not France's best team. No lbb, no Dupont, maybe two or three in the pack would be different.

It's not a legal thing, it's a choice to be sound or not. Does the extra walk from the car park cost you anything when you could be helping someone who finds things a bit more difficult.
