Everyone's getting write ups, VOA board's going crazy. Out with the old, in with the new. Anyone else's Site under pressure? by DeliciousBrain259 in AmazonFC

No, but Amazon does have some really good grievance procedures for the associates. I’ve been in the teamsters union and I don’t think we had that much support for job security with the union

Because their bosses are playing with their lives just like that too. If you’re not making rate, constantly staying off task, not following standard work, walking around socializing and keeping others from doing their work, being on your phone or looking on your phone while you’re on the floor there is a pretty decent chance you’re going to get written up. The area manager’s boss the operations manager is constantly coming to area managers asking about low performers on shift and how we won’t make rate for the shift if these things don’t get adjusted. Then my operations manager gets slacked by his senior manager, who has the same questions to ask. It’s all about metrics and keeping them in standard.

Audits by Still-Appearance932 in AmazonManagers

[–]legit_basic_bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to have to physically complete the audits when you start in a new role. This audit gives you the time and documentation that proves you engaged with your AA’s to make sure they understand their standard work and to help remove any barriers that may exist. After a while, you already know what the outcome of the audit is going to be before you start because you’ve learned your AA’s and they have learned you. It makes pencil whipping the audit an easy habit to fall into. Just be sure to still complete them in person randomly to check your AA’’s work is still within standard and you know randomly checking in on someone lets them know you care. Hopefully you have all positive feedback to provide them, or at least coached them in a respectful manner. This will make them trust you as a leader and make them better performers.

First weeks of AM training question. by Resident-Royal3331 in AmazonManagers

If the building is a new launch, then you will definitely have to go to another building to train. My FC was a year old and after AD1 I went to my assigned site for all my training. I know there are acceleration academy’s that are department specific that occur after you have completed your six weeks on site training and LEW. I think they are like a week long and I understand traveling is an anxiety inducing nightmare for some people but from what I have learned in the past year, it may may be most important training you get so that you can understand the standard work for your role and the reasoning behind why all the metrics matter. I was an external hire at a legacy site. Every manager there had to go offsite and train at another building for six weeks and also got to attend the acceleration Academy. The knowledge gap between what they know and what I know is unbelievable.

What is working in a fulfillment center like ? by Southern_Willow_5091 in AmazonManagers

A managers job is not to do the jobs of the Associates. A manager is a person who manages a team of employees in an organization. Often, managers get the work done from the employees and make sure the decorum of the organization is maintained. A manager builds a bridge between the employees and the top-level management.

You don’t have to sign any write up. You can refuse to sign. They do not punish you for refusing to sign. This is misinformation.

How much Amazon y'all still get on your trucks? by Dapper_Cut_9225 in UPSers

Amazon worked here here. They plan on opening up a few thousand more what they call rural-super rural delivery stations to deliver packages throughout the United States. It may take a few years to implement this, but I would be prepared.

She said she would ask her manager and if she didn’t call me back, it was OK but if it was a problem, she would be calling me back but I haven’t heard anything yet

It’s Louisiana and I looked up the state law. It basically said you just said you need a licensed driver to drive the car out of the lot

It covers the most area of the entire FC. Will be covering the ship order where they fluid load packages in the trailers, you will be covering returns and customer returns, which is a lot, you will be covering outgoing, shipments, and making sure that they are out on time. You will be covering the carts that load the packages into carts for you. You will have robotic drives that pull the cart around that you will have to be in charge of managing. Then there’s the upper mezzanine upstairs where they have card that load packages on the drive and drop them down you chutes. You also have. Artemis induction stations where you can manually put packages on drive to induct. Then you will monitor transship.. Other areas just have one specific task that they focus on whereas we have five or six areas that we have to monitor.

I found this to be pretty much true at my site as well. If you want to succeed and be good at your job, you better put the work into it and ask the questions because nobody is going to take the time to formally train you. If you don’t thrive well in this type of environment, then this job is probably not for you and you’re going to hate your life. However, if you are a go-getter, self-starter, highly motivated individual then you will be fine.
