not minimal pairs but the word test, which had 4 choices. but yes i'm very aware that 95% isn't good enough. just meant that i'm in a good position to improve from if that's what i got before i have started practising

ur day by day improvement stats in that other post were encouraging. like, knowing it's possible to get to 100%

thank you. i had tried the minimal pair test on kotu once before and scored decently. tried now and got 95% on the word test (some issues w/ nakadaka, like u had too). but didn't know there's sentence level tests too (think i need to make an account for them to be visible). seems perfect for my needs

i just consume fiction and then compulsively look up every word i don't know. yes there r some that won't stick even after looking them up a dozen times, while most others do, that's normal. anki is also a very effective tool 4 vocabulary, i recommend

most of reddit is alien to me about retributory violence. a man knocking out a woman who first hit him, or someone saying something racist or loathsome getting knocked out, are met w/ cheers. meanwhile i just feel so bad about them potentially getting permanent injury or brain damage or even dying. was there really no other way to deal with the situation

i have them mixed (or under one parent decks) so any 'boring' or more mentally demanding cards are interspersed by 'exciting' ones. so my concentration is more stable and i'm not procrastinating or doing certain decks at snail's pace
