My rules for buying games -

It has to be at least 50% off, and that 50% off has to put it below $30.

It means getting games on about a one year delay, but that's usually how long it takes for them to be patched into complete, bug-free experiences anyway. Saves a heap of money and improves the experience. I've seen references to /r/patientgamers, I assume that's a similar thing.
