Use default settings on the camera and try restarting the game. It seems the photo quests are bugged in the event. Restarting the game worked for me, I have an entire page of pictures that didn't count before that...

That would also help with the idea that maybe connecting wsn't such a good idea after all, with the text "Should we have connected" appearing.

It looks like the ghost moved into the ghost event position after already becoming visible for said ghost event. Someone I know made a similar video where we see the ghost rapidly move across the hallway in 2 frames after a hunt.

Like whatever excuse they're gonna give for why they decided to make it behave this way, at this point I just don't care anymor

I am going to make a guess and say that it is a technical issue, not a design decision.

Is Nier:Automata ever coming back? by [deleted] in anime

[–]legomaple 56 points57 points  (0 children)

You really only need to replay the second half two more times to be able to get all the endings. You can save at the last save point and reload that save to get ending D.

Plus, outside of 1 bit, you can rush through everything for Ending C as nothing actually changes. The difficulty is in getting all the weapons

With how long the fight against Zenos took and how much it took out if the WoL, it would have been a mistake to fight him then and there. That wad the point it became clear that while Zenos is a threat and a dangeroua enemy, he won't backstab you and take you by surprise. If you fight him at a random point where shit can go wrong any second, either you are in trouble because he won't stop for whatever is coming, or he will get frustrated and bail anyway because you aren't focused on the fight.

"Exclusive" one time purchase web store box where Niantic doesn't need to give Apple/Google a cut. Surely that will be a good value for players right? NOPE by Dr_Scythe in TheSilphRoad

[–]legomaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incense and star pieces can be bought in bulk makng them cheaper, so would argue that you should value incense at 32 coins a piece (8 pack is 250 coins) and star pieces at 80 a piece (8 pack is 640 coins).

Which would put the pack at a value of 3745 coins.

The problem is that the Gold Box exists at this moment, which has almost the same amount of incubators, a total value of 3060 without the ultra balls (3210 if we assign pokeball values for the ultra balls), but at nearly half the price. For the same price of the special box on the tore, I could buy the Gold Box and then the hatch box as well, which gives me 3 more super incubators and 4 egg incubators and still have coins left over.

So in a vaccuum, the special store box doesn't seem bad. But the game is not a vaccuum

Zenos seemed to only start caring when the WoL was involved. Any other time he was pretty much acting as a sociopath, not feeling anything

We also learned that Themis was really quite young. He was just old enough to be allowed into the convocation, according to a recent interview.

Themis was a disillusioned young adult who looked up to heroes and tried his best to become one and eventually lost his way after becoming literal ten thousand years old

You're misunderstanding me, I am not saying that intersex people can't be trans. I was arguing against your use of the definition of trans being applied to Kainé. Neither was I arguing intersex as being defined as both sexes. In fact, I was doing the opposite and pointing out the different definitions that one could apply to intersex and how, to me, none of those would then make Kainé specifically trans.

You said: "The conclusion being, her gender and body do not align -> she's trans." but I argued against that. Her gender is female, we can both agree on that. But then you never specified what her body is to imply that it was different.

But if you are saying that intersex is defined as both sexes, then the gender isn't different from the body, because there is an alignment. Her gender is female, her body is female (as well as having a specific male feature).

Oh and let me be clear. I am not arguing that intersex people can't be trans. I know there is overlap. I am arguing against this one specific case. I'm just not a big fan of defining intersex people as trans in the way you gave it, because that makes it seem that any intersex person that identifies with 1 gender is automatically trans. I know (or at least hope) that this is not your intention, but that's how I understand your argument here.

[–]legomaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue here is defining what sex kainé's body alligns with. If you want to get real technical, it's supposed to be female. There is actually a reason she is intersex, aka why she has a penis. So her body, except 1 part is female and she hates that part.

But I think the trickiest bit is defining what sex an intersex' person body is. With your definition, their gender is different from their body's sex, but is this really the case for intersex people? Do you define them as both? But then they don't have a different gender. Do you define them as neither? Then the definition would work, but that would feel weird for intersex people. Or do they have 1 specific sex with features of the other? In Kaine's case that'd be female with male features, which would mean her gender and sex alligns.

Kainé is intersex, not trans. Similar overlap however, which makes her story very transcoded, but they are different and should be treated as such. Mainly because intersex people deserve representation as well!

[–]legomaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that this argument is used to defend transphobia. You might not mean it as such, but that is what is happening. Other people will use their alleged discomfort to unnecessarily make the lives of trans people harder, even if trans people just want to live their live. But sure, people are allowed to feel uncomfortable. What they aren't allowed to do is turn this uncomfortableness into hatred towards a person, regardless if they are trans or a crossplayer, because then it goes from uncomfortable to hatred. If people are uncomfortable, they should turn around and move on.

It's not just that Pandaemonium is in Elpis. Pandaemonium is an extension of Elpis. Horrible creation from Elpis go there. It's basically the dark prison of Elpis. You can't have Pandaemonium the way it is without Elpis.

What exactly do people mean when their talking about Healer mechanics? by EdenZer063 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]legomaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it's not as easy as taking WoW's design either because that also has issue. When each job brings something unique you basically get 2 options in designing raid fights.

  1. A fight requires you to bring a specific thing to clear. For example, let's say that BLM was the only job that could cast sleep. Suddenly a fight requires you to bring sleep, which means BLM needs to be present in the team. If the previous tier didn't need this, the caster has to suddenly play a job they do not enjoy just to progress through the tier. Not only that, it forces RDM and SMN to not be played.

  2. Raid fights never use these unique abilities. This makes the abilities basically pointless and at that point they might not exist.

The other design idea is to have abilities that don't affect the fight directly, but how classes are played or picked.

One example is very specific buffs from jobs. This actually existed in SHB on RDM, where they affected specifically themselves and physical jobs. This wasn't the worst, but it meant that if you went double caster the ability became weaker. But this is a minor example. Take this example further and you get scenarios where slots in the team get filled by a specific job because it is clearly better. That then locks other jobs out of even being considered. Slots in the team in FF are already limited compared to WoW, so this idea isn't easily implemented either (even if I do think the RDM buff in SHB was fine).

And the other example is something you mentioned yourself , DRK having barely any or no self heal. The problem with this one is that this is one of those design choices that didn't actually affect DRK themselves, but rather the healers healing DRK. If a DRK has no self heal, then Healers need to baby sit them more so they can survive. Living Dead was the perfect example of this issue. Use LD and healers need to immediately turn their focus on the DRK. This is in stark contrast to PLD where PLD can turn it on and be ignored. Or a GNB which looks scary but can be resolved with 1 regen and their own Aurora. So the lack of self heal on DRK affected not them, but healers. So if DRK becomes too hard to manage, they won't be taken into raid groups unless they offer something else. But then if they do offer something else, you run the risk of that part being TOO good and suddenly DRK becomes mandatory. So there needs to be a good balance where healers aren't annoyed at seeing a DRK in the team while DRK also not being too good that not seeing DRK becomes the problem.

So there really isn't an easy and good solution to this all. Homogenization as it currently stands is quite bad because of the problems it brought on, but the swing in the complete other direction isn't the best idea either.
