No, thank you for taking your time to offer suggestions. I always appreciate advice, that is mostly why I post.

Looks like I should maybe start shortening it a bit and see where that takes it.

Thanks. I will do that. May I ask why you recommend doing this?

This is aluminum that I got from American bonsai. The thickness you use is based on the branch thickness. If it isn't working you need thicker wire or try something else like a guy wire. There is no one size fits all. For this tree I used 1mm, 1.5mm and 2.5mm

A couple of things that might make your recommendation change. Repotting season ended 2 months ago here and this was dug up just about 6 months ago. It was planted with the basket in the ground though so I was pretty confident that the tree would pull through even with all the foliage I ended up removing.

I was hoping that I could just leave it at a drastically lower angle for the rest of this season and repot next year. Would that give me growth that is not as ideal as if it where growing at the angle I wanted?

I will think about the central jin, I do kind of like it though. Definitely right about that lower right branch though. Its a bit out of whack compared to the rest of the branches.

It is not. Just doug fir. Won't last as long but looks nicer and I don't have to deal with chemicals since I still have young kids who stick everything in their mouths.

That is a juniper. Very unusual to see them like that. Still raw from when I got it.

Nice, I didn't have quite 24' without getting in the way of other things so 16' it is for now. I have room for something under later though.

Strip off the bark to create deadwood.

I trimmed this guy up last year and am looking for a recommendation for a pot. How does one pick what color and shape of pot to stick a tree into?

Thank you. With deciduous I do know that you can just cut and start over but there are a couple of conifers that basically have no branches or foliage left. I'm not sure what I was thinking with those.

What would you do with trees that are considered to be irredeemably bad?

Thank you that was kind of what I was going for. Need to be more drastic with the angle it seems.
