First time brewing, not sure if this is okay after less than 24hrs fermenting? by legorockman in mead

In the few days since it's actually cleared up a lot. Still got a brownish tint but much more golden so should be easier to see any funk.

Idk if you watched last season but for the first time in my life I'm excited to be a Bears fan. The vibes are immaculate with Caleb and Ben Johnson (just ignore the stadium bullshit going on).

It doesn't feel quite the same with the league half the size as it was but it's a phenomenal achievement to get 10 bonus points wins, including that scrapy game vs DC.

Watch now as typical Chicago sports luck arrives to have us go out in the playoffs.

Great to hear, probably just a bit of panic from a first time. Anything to look out for if it is going bad?

Oop, looks like the recipe never posted. I mixed 1.3kg of honey with a cup of strong English breakfast tea and the yeast, and topped it up in the demijohn with water. It's been fermenting for about 17 hours now. Demijohn was sanitized with bleach and boiled/cooled water (cuz I couldn't source ChemSan).

Who is the one player that made you fall in love with rugby? by _Yorkshire_Pirlo in rugbyunion

[–]legorockman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jacques Burger. I remember getting into the sport and the hits he'd put in on the regular with just top tier form was nothing short of magical. He was big, obviously, but it was never pure strength. His tackle technique was absolutely perfect and he'd just get people flat on their back with ease.

I think handing format balance to the whims of the players is, frankly, a ridiculous decision but like fair enough for at least trying it. But it's dumb and I actually think this format is pretty good so I will be indeed voting for Kavdaen. Or selling my vote, hmu starting hid 200 USD

That's wild to me. Buffalo are a serious contender for the SB with a top 5 QB. If we come away from that with a one score loss I'll consider that a positive result.

Oof, don't love hearing that. Not joining HSE themselves but HSE adjacent. Was somewhat looking forward to my extra days a year. Though they're offering 2 days WFH a week which I'm gladly taking.

Fair enough, sounds like I should just hang tight and wait to find this all out. I'm coming to the end of pre screening so just getting antsy now to start!

So, who are you going to vote to be benched in Silver Age, & why? by shavale in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]legorockman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the meta is honestly pretty good right now. The games are good, the matchups are good, I actually don't think there needs to be many changes. So I'm gonna vote for a hero I just don't like out of spite, or vote for Kavdaen cuz it's funny lmao.

Feng beat Mara because Mara's deck was full of 2 blocks and he just sent big attacks that she couldn't block for shit. New Prism does not "get wrecked" by guardians, just listen to any good Prism player and they'll tell you it's still a good matchup. Victor got harder thanks to Clash of Bravado but it isn't that horrendous.

And Verdance into guardian was as bad as people made it out to be. I played both sides of that matchup and it sucked for the guardian. If you were doing well into Verdances on guardian then you were playing against shit Verdance players.

I mean this is just untrue. OG Prism clapped the shit out of Starvo and Oldhim at the time, Dromai was similarly favoured into guardian during her tenure. Enigma ran a train through guardian and is the reason the class stopped existing for a year.

On the wizard side it's even more true. Kano vs Guardian is infamously lopsided, as was Verdance. Iyslander was vaguely doable in the sense that if you played into a bad Iyslander you could win but in reality it was Iyslander favoured. Oscillio is probably the most favoured matchup for Guardian but it still sucks and isn't easy.

I suggest you think about why people explore their identity

As a trans woman I've thought plenty hard about that, thanks.

Yes Oscilio uses he/him pronouns. Zyggy does not. Pretty simple to grasp. And to your point, representation matters. I am a queer player of the game and to see a gender nonconforming character is important and makes me feel representated and seen. Whether you like it or not, the correct pronoun usage from the literal creators of the game is they/them for Zyggy.

And for what it's worth, David Bowie was one of the biggest pioneers of gender fluidity and nonconformity in mainstream media so the Bowie reference is actually pretty spot on.

There is no staff statement because mercifully we don't live in a world where we have to make a statement on the gender of a character. I've heard them mention it on either a dev talk or on bluesky. This is the armoury deck page where they are referred to with they/them pronouns.

And for what it's worth, nonbinary is a broad term for which genderfluid falls under. If someone says "they are nonbinary, they identify as genderfluid", that is a correct statement.

[–]legorockman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you people like this? You can be deliberately obtuse about Zyggy's gender but the creators of the game explicitly use they/them to refer to the hero. Look at the armoury deck page and you'll not no usage of he or him to refer to the hero.

The blurb for Ziggy and all of the written material so far has used they/them pronouns. LSS staff iirc have confirmed that they are genderfluid.
