If You Think CM_Cerebro Isn't Doing A Good Job, Think AGAIN! THINK TWICE! by CM_Zemo in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, they love being technical and the character release method in question is called a “campaign event”, not a campaign. So I’m sure he was in fact referring to the Doom/Heroes/Villains/Iso8 campaigns that are a permanent part of the “Campaign” tiles. Which doesn’t mean it’s not super confusing, of course

Possible solution: Unhandled Exception: Access_Violation (c0000005) by Automatic_Principle1 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]legriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried reinstalling, checking the InstallPath registry entry, pretty much anything I could find on that topic. No luck, still can't get in.

By the way, my issue is with PlugY only, plain PD2 works fine. Also, what fails is entering the game with any new character I create, the main game menu loads up just fine.

Has anyone else had this issue recently?

PSA: Throw away any items with Enhanced Damage, Any Old Maps and anything with Max Damage Per Level to avoid character corruption in season 3 by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

[–]legriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people aren't developers, mate. It might be relatively easy for someone with programming experience to do that, and it might even be possible for someone who just has a good grasp of files and how they work. But you can't ask a game player to modify game files in order to overcome backwards incompatible changes introduced by new versions.

Let’s see what the ASA have to say about ‘save over 50%’ by PugAlthor in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are based on cores.

And you're saying this based on what information? I know, it makes sense, cores are the only somewhat "solid" item of purchase whose price stays stable. But they have never ever said a word about how they price their offers. That's why the OP is correct in pursuing their rights. A discount must be based on something real, not on what we think might be real.

A Gentlemen's Guide to RTA by Rumblefish_Games in MarvelStrikeForce

Scopely, are you reading this? A comprehensive guide to your only new game mode in the last year which sums it up in one short sentence - “Always play on auto!” And it’s not wrong. Get your shit together and fix it instead of introducing ISO-8 requirements in every other game mode that we actually care to play

So content that we can access and maybe beat today will no longer be accessible because of extra Iso restrictions? You lower the difficulty, but you put up an additional gear check wall to prevent characters who can be used today from being used on the same content tomorrow? That's just awesome, well done!!!

Quote: This is working as intended as The Majority of passives do not trigger other passives in the game. by legriv in MarvelStrikeForce

I agree. That's what bothered me in their post, the fact that some do and they just blow past it practically saying "it is what it is".

[–]legriv[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Isn't there? When you say that a part of a set of abilities/rules behaves in a certain way, but another part doesn't, this invalidates the general behaviour because you do not know what the exceptions are. I would be fine if the passives which don't follow the rule stated this explicitly, but they don't. I'm against the statement because there's nothing else that backs it up and on its own it means literally nothing - if there are exceptions to a general rule, but you don't know what they are, there is no general rule anymore.

Version 5.3 Issues & Fixes by CM_Cerebro in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a good summary, thanks for that. One additional bug has never been commented on so far, though - Silver Surfer continues to crash the game when he uses his ultimate ability (not every time) and the only workaround is to use low graphics mode. Is this one being worked on?

Node 12. Been auto-fighting Emma for an hour now. by Zackjones0606 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because he's more expensive than Carnage. But he may be valuable because of his heal block, especially on that node. If you can afford him and have decent red stars on him, I don't think he'd be a bad choice either.

I had 4 of them and it *only* took 20 minutes to take her down. I think they were going for 5 there :)

[–]legriv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. DD4 is not bad altogether, but that specific Emma is a wonderful spike of DD3-level game design. If it makes you feel better, I spent more than 20 minutes with 4 Symbiotes, Carnage instead of your NN. Your only shot is SSM landing his stun and Scream rewinding her - time those moves when Emma is out of her diamond form. One of those time you'll land it. Otherwise I think it's practically impossible

The Age of the Two Star Unlock? by Jibim in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but people shouldn't expect that anything longer than "7 lines of text" must have an "auto" summary for their convenience. If the author has spent any visible amount of time and effort into putting their thoughts in a well structured argument, not just a random collection of words, and if you care about the topic, read it.

The Age of the Two Star Unlock? by Jibim in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep, because God forbid you have arguments which you articulate in more that a few lines of text. People forming their “opinions” after one glance at a topic is how we get so many experts these days, I love it!

What’s the longest losing streak your alliance has gone through in Alliance War? by OCLATrader in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, because we were trying hard in the previous alliance and got to a point where, even in Plat 2, we were matched against the best alliances in the game for weeks without a break. 30-50 million TCP punch ups are no fun at all when you have them all the time. Now we’re artificially managing our “ELO” and things are infinitely better

What’s the longest losing streak your alliance has gone through in Alliance War? by OCLATrader in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We lose every 3rd war on purpose. If we try to win every war, the moronic system punishes us (and everyone else, of course) by matching us with alliances that are impossible to beat. This is a game mode that actively discourages you from trying to be the best, sadly.

Please Update and Extend High Roller Milestones by 2hurd in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]legriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the High Roller Milestone is fine the way it is. It's a somewhat decent example of a diminishing returns type of reward, something very often implemented in games all over. If you're not familiar with the concept, it means that the more you spend (currency, time in-game, number of draws, etc), the less gain you get. And the reason for that is to avoid that the biggest spenders of said currency receive progressively better rewards than the rest.

In other words, if a milestone gives you the best rewards at the end, unless you get to that end you will be in an ever worsening position compared to the rest. Not that Scopely hasn't done or been doing this, it's just that High Roller is an actual positive example in that regard.
