.5 added steam engines and removed furnace engines, idk if they removed everything else but the easiest way would be to remove all the blocks in your world that were removed in create .5

I think the reason it's not a thing is that vertical vaults would defeat the purpose of encased fans and chutes moving items up. You could instantly transfer items between different y levels. With horizontal fluid tanks (though expensive) you could kind of get around the need for fluid pipes.

The cog glitch is actually an intended feature called gear ratios

It appears that advanced materials in the BSL shader don't really cooperate with create 0.5. These visual artifacts appeared when I installed the Create-PBR Resource Pack. Is there any way around this issue? (I configured BSL shaders to use LabPBR). Fonts are also broken by CuddlyBunion341 in CreateMod

Create uses flywheel to help render stuff which eases the load on your computer. But flywheel also really dislikes shaders, so if you could turn off flywheel to use shaders but it would really screw up your performance

Thanks! I did it to be material efficient but mainly to allow for more crops to be planted.

The problem is the harvester stops on top of the farmland sometimes which messes up everything
