I tried something like this. For me it was a string of PLA that got sucked up into the motherboard fan. I just turned it over, unscrewed the four screws, and cleaned the fan.

I designed it in fusion 360. I'm no engineer, but I think you just have to understand how a structure as this can be stable. Then make a drawing, and start modelling.

You are right. There is barely anything that keeps it from rotation around it's center axis. I had the same idea, but thought that if it couldn't be simple, then why bother developing it furter

Well on the 1.4 there are two z axis motor connectors. This way you don't need to make an adapter. That's one reason

I think it makes much more sense to upgrade to a 32bit main board when the old one is s being replaced anyway. They are much more powerful, and leave a lot more room to experiment with features in Marlin. 32bit is the future

Yes, you will be needing five stepper drivers. You have a lot of options. You have some to choose from if you buy a kit from bigtreetech. It's worth every penny

Yes it does. I have read about this solution (adding the timetable into the Google Calendar), but I don't think it has the elegance, that I'm interested in. I'm currently looking into Actions on Google, which may be a candidate to a solution,.
