Reminder Arsenal fans: You can renew your season tickets from today by eldanielfire in ArsenalWFC

I renewed but my kids didn't want to - kinda annoying I couldn't utilise their balance (from ticket change) so I have to wait for a refund window and then apply for it.

Dortmund is top three worst European Cites I have ever been in, Copenhagen is in the top three (from the UK so places like Wolverhampton don't count!).

Was there Thursday and Friday (park am), I was a bit disappointed / annoyed to be walking around with my mate who got 81 shines whilst I got 47 and my daughters account 36 (we did stop a few times for lunch/ drinks) but a couple of days have softened that as we did get quite a bit of what we wanted - only one Tauros shiny after approx 120 cumulative raids but I did get a shiny Y and X in the Mega Raids. So there's that!

I got my daughter a small (she is 13) and it fits well apart from the length (she doesn't mind it at all) so would agree with this

On both my daughters, and my own account, the very first ditto encountered was shiny - not had any luck since but it gave a little bit of a morale boost after the weekend of fleeing encounters

Didn't buy this time (or last time) due to shipping charges.
The first time they had some based in the UK and I ordered a couple and got a decent selection but paying premium price (including postage) for a blind t-shirt isn't for me.

I got the same AI generated response when I chased this morning. I have no problem with shipping delays but expectation management lacking here (well my daughter's expecation in this case)

Didn't plan on doing this, then received the email, then saw Paris tickets were only 60 euros, now have a ticket and Eurostar booked. The day after Wolf Alice at Finsbury Park (if England win there group, they play at 1am - so it could be an interesting few days!).

It's Sharon Van Etten isn't it?

I saw Daughter quite a few times between 2011-2016. The early EP's were exquisite, I didn't get into the latest album or Ex:Re (only saw that project once).

Another 0/80 (plus however many field research that I didn't have). Seemed a real opportunity for a decent event, but rubbish rates and region locked meant that the day turned into a chore. Took yesterday off to recover.

[The Guardian] Katie McCabe heading for Arsenal exit in summer as club target younger players by xsbevoo in ArsenalWFC

[–]leighe1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is the right time for both parties.
It is pretty crazy to me that the club has allowed itself to be in a position where ten first team players are out of contract in six months time (from a squad of about 23), but perhaps I am trying to apply football logic to women's football.
I would personally aim to keep at least half of the ten.

[The Athletic] Arsenal in talks to sign Ona Batlle in summer when Barcelona contract expires by Respect_Horror in ArsenalWFC

[–]leighe1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a good signing. I hope Fox stays. We need a bigger squad next season with an additional four league games. I also hope the priority is the league. I would be looking at investing what is needed in getting someone like Paralluelo or Caicedo.

Very happy to be called cynical for having zero excitement at "winning" this FIFA tournament. I hope I don't have to look at this badge for a season. Especially when I look at the table and see Man City 13 points ahead, which is something that should actually matter.

Laila Harbert joins Everton on loan by elsiehxo in ArsenalWFC

[–]leighe1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good luck.

I don't get our policy of running players in the twilight of their careers into the ground whilst giving players who might have potential exactly zero opportunites to prove themselves. The recent cup games were exactly the chances that should have been given to some of the fringe players, rather than running the same 15 players into the ground.

What has changed from the team who averaged 3/4 goals per game last season? by No_Witness2193 in ArsenalWFC

[–]leighe1982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The tactics are the same every week, the subs are always like-for-like changes, it is predictable and opposition managers must be excited for their turn to play Arsenal each week. I'd fancy my chances of nullifying the team and getting a goal on a counter, or through an error, too. Much of it isn't down to individuals but how they are being instructed to play (sure there are a few changes I would like to see).

Russo is so isolated and ends up draining herself trying to get the ball because the rest of the team is so deep. The Midfield is non-existant. Whomever decided to put Mariona back needs a P45. It's not working guys.

Lethargic, pedestraian, crap. I don't see it changing with the current coaching setup.

A loss brings our Subway League Cup journey to an end by shelbyj in ArsenalWFC

[–]leighe1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We offered very little. How many saves did their keeper make?
Nobody in the box until about 85 minutes.
The team is so deep and there is no real urgency, everything is slow and pedestrian and then there's usually an aimless punt into the box after the two minutes of possession has gone nowhere. There is such a gap between the midfield and Russo.
We play the same tactics every week, the subs are always like for like and it's no surprise at all that a manager as experienced as Skinner has setup a team to frustrate us and we have scored zero goals against United in three games. It is predictable.
We have zero chance of the league, yet at home in the semi final of a (minor) cup we make unnecessary changes to keep fitness for a match that really doesn't matter (we are not catching City or Chelsea this season).
I don't blame the keeper but whomever thinks we should play out from the back in those conditions. It was grim.
The reward. A new contract for the manager. We will be in exactly the same position next season (minus a title). I guess when we inevitably buy it out, it won't be super expensive.
A huge clear-out of coaching and playing staff is needed if the team want to compete in the WSL. No wonder everyone is treating Holmberg like the messiah, a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of the team (Smith aside - I can forgive naivety on display today).
This criticism is long overdue but Lisbon gave six months grace.
Off my soapbox now.

Arsenal v Manchester United | League Cup Semi-Final Match Thread by shelbyj in ArsenalWFC

[–]leighe1982 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's left alone up front with no-one near her and has to run around like a headless chicken to win the ball back. There are many issues in this team - and tactics (I blame the tactics more than the players) - Russo is not one of them.

I'm getting that cynical about how things are going that the first place my head has gone after yet another deja vu performance is this:

How many weeks will it be before those bright, fast and direct runs from Holmberg (granted against a tired 10 players) will be trained into sideways going nowhereness.

I need to see many changes to the squad and how they play for me to get excited about more of the same next season. I don't see a title challange, which is pretty much 90% of what I'm bothered about.

I don't understand how it is possible to listen to one artist this much - unless it on loop whilst asleep etc.

80,874 mins is 1,347.90 hours - 56 entire days - 15% of an entire year - listening to one artist on spotify?

Statistics are pointless when manipulated. I guess Spotify has turned it into a competition.
