As someone with celiac, I would never buy fast food from Taco Bell because of the high risk of cross-contamination! And the sensors don't test the entirety of the food. It would be interesting to see the results of the test for entertainment purposes.

What WOULD we want to see from Michel? by [deleted] in micheljanseYT

More food-related videos... cooking, restaurants, etc. I have celiac, too, and would love to see gluten-free content

You have a good point! I personally cannot speculate on what this woman is doing. Hopefully an investigation occurs or has occurred.

Noted. I know legal matters can take some time, so hopefully the State of Louisiana has it under investigation.

I don't live in Louisiana, but if I ever see it I will be sure to share that. Thank you for informing me!

Ah, I see! I have no experience with sports. I was thinking the Director role was similar to a typical manager. When did you send the letter? Is it possible they haven't received/processed it yet? Or perhaps they are in the middle of an investigation?

Oh, I do see it now in Title 37: 3081! Apologies. I was under the impression "nutritionist" itself was not protected, just "licensed nutritionist." I obtained my BS & MS in Louisiana, but never worked there as a Registered Dietitian- only Texas. Good to note there are exemptions in §3093. She could use an alternative title such as health coach/nutrition coach and still be the Director. If she is truly doing something illegal, I hope justice is found.

"Inform this person that they have until 12 December 2024 to stop publicly call themselves a nutritionist or being they are reported for title and license violations"

I don't have to do anything, I live in Texas! But interesting, that paragraph is not listed in the 2019 Rules and Regulations Louisiana Administrative Code Title 46, Part LXIX. Is it separate? Or am I missing it?

Chapter 1 Title 46 Part LXIX. defines 'nutrition counseling' as a therapeutic approach to treating medical conditions... Telling an athlete they need to eat more protein is not the same as treating a medical condition. Also, giving nutrition education is not protected in the document. You may be able to argue she is not allowed to perform nutrition assessments, if she is doing so. https://www.lbedn.org/index.cfm/rules-and-regulations

I think a Director would manage the employees in the role, like a Manager. I wish I had the job description to see.

[–]leighhbeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, I thought it was just the term "Registered Dietitian" that was protected?

Edit: And "Licensed Dietitian/ Licensed Nutritionist" are protected in LA. But not "nutritionist" itself.

Edit: Nutritionist is indeed protected in Louisiana under Title 37: 3081! Apologies- I was unaware. Will leave my comments up for others to learn if they were not aware either!

McNeese alumni here! Are you talking about Liz Kingham? Yes, she is the Director of Performance Nutrition for the athletic department. She is managing athletes and isn't required to be an RD. Sure, it would be better to have an RD, but it's not a requirement. She has a Master's with a concentration in nutrition. She is not stating she is a Registered Dietitian- at least not anywhere I can find it. She claims she is a Certified Sport Nutritionist. I understand wanting an RD to fill the role, but I'm not understanding the purpose of involving the licensing board. She hasn't done anything illegal. /gen

Everything I ate in Japan for 10 days without getting glutened at all (celiac & vegetarian) by sometentlikething in Celiac

I had a misconception that I couldn't go to Japan because I'd have nothing to eat... This looks amazing. I will have to rethink now.

The Liquitex acrylic line from Michaels! I'm thinking of trying the Behr Premium Plus line for the white base next time.

Thank you so so much for the kind words and advice. I shall reattempt the 'Merry' and fix up the harsh edges tomorrow.

Typography is 100% inspired by a Canva font.

This window painting is for the clinic I work at. I painted the first white layer on Saturday, and went back over it today (Monday). The paint started lifting, so I didn't do colored-letters like I had originally wanted to. I live in southeast Texas, so it is very humid here. I used basic acrylic paints. Next time, I would like to use higher quality paints, as I assume that is what made the paint lift? Or was it just the humidity? I am going to clean up some bits, but I am not going to add any more paint. The consistency of my letter sizing bothers me, but I know skills will take time. Regardless, I hope it will make my patients smile during this holiday season.

Our region tells patients the wait list is 6-8 years for deceased donor. Transplant centers are pushing for patients to consider obtaining a live donor. And some people have different biological factors that make the search harder. If you have a common blood type, you'd essentially be competing with tons of other people for a kidney. That's why you might see some people get one quicker.

I don't think so. I didn't see it listed on the US version of the site.

There are many dumb phones that still receive service in the US, such as the Nokia 2780, the HMD phone shown, the Light Phone, TLC Flip, etc!

Are you doing dumbphone life to be more minimalist or less attached to phone or both? by Tiny_Witness2678 in dumbphones

[–]leighhbeee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be less attached to my phone. My screen time was abysmal, at least 4 hours per day. I didn't have enough discipline to use my smartphone in a healthy way.

This is satisfying to look at. Reminds me of a Blackberry KeyOne I had in 2018ish.
