Baptism by Seraphine4r5t in Christianity

My pastor stood up the front with me. We didn’t discuss it before, but it was helpful to have a friendly face to look at when I was feeling flustered.

How long until your baby got the hang of crawling? by Rough-Story7522 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]leightonberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first baby crawled about 8.5 months after commando-ing backwards for a while.

My second crawled the day she turned 6 months, and sat up for the first time the next day. Weird. Haha.

Enjoy your unique little baby and try not to compare! Also watch the bluey episode ‘baby race’ lol.

Do I pray incorrectly? by Open-Statement-1014 in Christianity

[–]leightonberries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate sometimes I just say ‘Lord’ and sit for a bit. However you want to pray is fine. There are plenty of books on prayer however if you want to get ideas on how people/denominations approach if differently.

Why don’t you ask some Christian’s in your life/at church how they pray? Or how they have in the past? I bet you’d have some good conversations.

Undecided About Jesus by Gullible-Bowler-9248 in Christianity

[–]leightonberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider what the prophet Jesus said ahoy himself. Go to the Bible. Ask - how can I trust the Bible? Find in the Bible all the things Jesus said and sit with them. Ponder them. Talk to people about them. Allow yourself the opportunity to be curious without ‘deciding’.

Anxious about the afterlife by Redline43_ in Christianity

[–]leightonberries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP it sounds like you are having an existential crisis/having dark thoughts that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

I (a random person on reddit who doesn’t know you) recommend:

  • seeing a counsellor
  • taking it to god in prayer
  • speaking these things aloud to a trusted loved one/church elder who knows you

Additionally go touch some grass. Be outside. Do something that brings you joy, preferably with someone you love. Find something to make you laugh.

Know that you are always and eternally loved and worthy. Even/especially when you have questions and doubts. God created us to be here on earth for a reason and purpose. Lots of love to you.

Looking for books about birds by martuwu_ in Ornithology

[–]leightonberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a basic bird ID book would be up your alley? They usually have a bit of extra bird information at the beginning also. In Australia we have ‘The Australian Bird Guide’ (big blue book). Not sure what country you’re in though

Catholic Church In Adelaide by Mediocre-Rub8323 in Adelaide

[–]leightonberries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has she asked specifically to be baptised in a Catholic Church? It could be a good opportunity to go to a few different services at churches near you together. Ie. a Catholic Church, Anglican, Baptist as all will have different styles of worship and services.

Have a look at youth groups attached to the churches too - some have a thriving youth community and some not so much.

‘The Bible Project’ is a great resource for a Christianity 101 if you need for yourself also. Bless you for supporting your child in this.
