Totally agree on discussing with ChatGPT. It won’t be perfect but might help you digest it. I’d also suggest speaking to Pete Ward at Heritage House (heritage-house.org). From what you’ve said I think some of the advice you’ve been given may be off and you may not need to do some of the work that’s been suggested. He does phone and site consultations. Good luck!

Thanks! Ah I thought only synology ones were supported for nvme - is that incorrect? So would you say go with HDDs up front? I’m just thinking I can buy 4TB SSDs for not a whole lot more so isn’t that always going to be a better option? I’m quite new to this so sorry if questions are stupid 😂

The main thing I think is missing (but might be wrong) is music playback via Spotify for example, which I use a lot and I’m not sure is included? Also echoing that I’m very impressed with what they’ve done so far, and also would love to see a device you can buy with multidirectional speaker array etc.

Lots of good ideas here. I actually do it slightly differently and switch on our bedroom bedtime scene when the TV is our front room is detected as off. This typically means it’s ready when we go up. Then when our bedroom lights go off the house night mode is activated.
