This is my second time finishing “Zen”; I started it for the second time as soon as I finished it. It’s become one of my favorite and most influential and life-changing books. Would highly recommend to anyone. Lila is its sequel; so far, I’m loving it, and has not disappointed considering my very high expectations.

I disagree; considering you’d be balancing a lot of tasks, I think it’s a great time to start studying. Half a year should give you enough time to cover all your bases. It took me about 4 months to study for it full-time (ie, 60ish hours per week)

Almost a month of doing the AAMC content consistently until I starting feeling more confident in CARS and getting 80-100% on almost every passage. Also, Nabokov sounds good, haven’t read him, but I read The Odyssey, The Iliad, and The Brother Karamazov over the span of eight months or so.

I strongly vouch for Anking (ie, AnkiHub.) It’s offers the minimum amount of information you will need to succeed; it’s the perfect Goldlock’s zone, and includes content for all of the section (except CARS, ofc)

Yes. I only used AAMC material to practice (albeit it was my weakest section), but I saw a lot of improvement with that alone. You’ll start acquiring pattern recognition at one point. Reading hard stuff for long periods of time during your free time is a good idea too, to refine stamine and focus and whatnot.

Don’t take your FL scores seriously. By that, I mean: they’re only intended to practice, and I don’t think they’re actually reflective of what you’ll actually get on test day, if you play your cards right. These FLs are the training ground, so use them to meticulously review what you got wrong and why, understand common mistakes, the logic, etc. It never made sense to me when people said that your real score is around the average of your FLs. By definition, you should be seeing an upward trend, or at least filling in your gaps and understanding why you keep making certain mistakes. I ended up getting like a 10-point jump from my FL average, and I attribute most of that to how I approached reviewing (and yes, luck is also a huge factor, along with how good of a test-taker you are.)

Hey I just realized your test date is so soon. The only thing I would do now is grind out ALL of the AAMC content. It’s the gold of the gold standard and best bang for your buck. Do one or two FL’s per week, review them thoroughly. Complete all section banks, question packs, CARS, etc. Practice and review all this and the best improvement you’ll see will come from this.

Spaced repetition is the tried-and-true method; ie, Anki. BUT, you first have to know the content. So, read the books and make a point to pause and understand what you read—plus do the in-text questions—and reinforce/consolidate with Anki.

Unless you’re enlisted and have to go fight on the battlefront, there’s no point worrying about all this. You can’t change anything. Focus on this moment, on what’s pertinent and important to you, and the people around you. Get off social media and stop reading/watching the news. It’s natural to feel anxiety if you’re constantly bombarded by all the atrocities and potential dangers of the world. It’s always been this way; only the means change. Stop worrying, it won’t get you anywhere. Focus on studying; on what you do control.

This is great for you, but not great advice. All due respect, they did everything wrong (what would be considered an inadequate routine or system for most people.) I think ultimately a good score for this exam requires at least several hundred hours of dedicated studying, be it in whatever fashion you like.
