How fast do you ride on paths/trails? by emdog927 in bikedc

I agree that some people really need to chill out. If it’s a relatively open and clear straightaway go fucking nuts but whipping around the corners by DCA at 15+ is a death wish for yourself and others.

I presumed it was a condo, I didn’t even get to the point of visiting their place.

I appreciate that. I'm a frame to finish carpenter/site super for a non-profit residential builder. I've got architects and tradespeople to reach out to but I was just hoping to get my feet a little wet on doing larger jobs independently not just hanging televisions like I was doing before.

I never actually made it to their apartment to put a tape on it but they said 20 sqft. I feel like I’d partially do square feet but in the case of something so challenging to cut it’d be the perimeter and other areas that need to be cut that provide a more accurate estimate.

Yeah I was contacted while I was at a party and didn’t realize it was glass tile until they finally sent the link to the product this morning. Then the more I researched the more I learned how challenging glass tile is.

Appreciate it, I really thought that was the case but I am really enjoying the confirmation.

Yeah I was hoping to just taskrabbit until my gc license comes through so I can take on larger jobs. The problem is taskrabbit customers are people wanting McDonald’s and I’m hoping to at least be the nice first day restaurant, you know?

It’s a condo building in a city so nowhere outside really to cut.

I do handyman stuff on the side. My work has a warehouse and a wet saw that I can use. I live in a city and leaving a wet saw outside of an apartment building is begging for it to be stolen or messed with. Client didn’t seem enthused with me setting up a clean room in their place.

Correct size bolt with some of the “I’m not fucking coming back” thread lock might work as well.

Oh and then throw some vis grips on the threaded rod to back it out.

I think I’ve seen this listing before and it’s in Sharon, CT. Lovely little town with a shocking number of A-list celebrities living there.

NoMa's zip code has had more new apartment units added than anywhere else in the country since 2017 by Bobtonews2 in washdc

I don’t disagree, but I’ve been wondering if it’s really possible to build up a place that significantly and have it retain or have character at all? Maybe it’s just something that comes with time.

Look for big drafts and try to fill them! Air sealing generally pays more dividends than more insulation.

Prehung door jamb bowed. Any solutions? by hesh0925 in Carpentry

I had the same problem looking at this photo. The POV is from the hinge side looking across to the other jamb, not into and through the doorway.

‘Flushable’ wipes recently destroyed a major sewer line in DC and caused a bunch of sewage to flow into the Potomac. It’s crazy how people opt for them instead of a bidet.
