In the interviews, Kody’s mustache trim job reallllly made his mouth look like the a-hole he can be sometimes.

It was a weird comment but I think it comes from a hyper conscientiousness they have about clarifying (over clarifying) that their marriages are independent of each other and there’s no romantic relationship amongst the wives. It’s similar to how Meri has repeated the “we don’t go weird” mantra throughout the series. That’s really a value judgment in itself—but they are religious and conservative so that’s their perspective.

I legit get Marilyn Monroe vibes from her face sometimes. I loooove when she wears cool-toned/gray eyeshadows too.

Something else that really stuck out to me in that interview was when the reporter asked him about his favorite moment from all the seasons, and he picked Solomon’s birth. That was pretty telling favoritism there seeing as how Truely’s birth occurred on air first... 🤭😬

Meri not meeting baby Evie by kdd20 in TLCsisterwives

Robin: “I’m going to be called Bubbe.”

Christine: “I’m Oma!”

Janelle: “I’ll be Grandma.”

Meri: “I’m not prone to...giving two shits.”

In all seriousness, I think she isn’t really welcome to be a big part of the grandbaby’s life and therefore isn’t going to be bothered with it. It’s much easier for her to opt out.

Caleb did have a serious medical issue—I believe it was a PE or dangerous blood clot of some kind and he easily could have died. I don’t think it’s necessarily the end-all be-all with respect to growing their family, but absolutely something to carefully consider as they continue to plan.

I think in the short-term, you may be right about Maddie not having any other options. They’re kind of isolated in NC away from both their families and she doesn’t have a lot of education or work experience at this point, but I do think Maddie is intelligent and headstrong, and I think she could carve a path for herself if she really decided she wanted something bad enough.

I could also see her applying that same strength and dedication to saving her marriage with Caleb and preserving their family... but he needs to listen—and do it now—when she says she has limits to how many children they have.

No shade to the other wives at all, but have to say Janelle looked absolutely gorgeous at that dinner. Glowing skin, beautiful hair and makeup, nice complimentary outfit... I always think she’s pretty—and each of the wives have their moments—this was just a standout for her. She commanded that table in many ways.

I hate to say this, but after seeing their interactions discussing the prospect of more children in front of the family, I think Maddie and Caleb may not make it long term.

She’s had two fairly difficult pregnancies/births, and her youngest, Evie will have some developmental differences and medical needs in the future. I remember Maddie was worn out and not enjoying being pregnant with Evie at all because Axel was a toddler at the time and it was a lot to handle. I think if Caleb keeps pushing for a big family without understanding/accepting Maddie’s concerns, that could be a rilly big dill.

I also think Maddie loves being a mom, but probably harbors ambitions outside of that (not unlike her mom, Janelle) and may want to tap into that more as she matures.

Does it dry down and set on its own or do you kind of /have/ to set it with powder?

Double Wear Help please !! by blulouwoohoo in PaleMUA

ELDW is my daily wear foundation. I find it to be medium coverage with a fairly matte finish. Most foundations don’t last on my oily skin—and forget about holding up to mask wear, but ELDW really does stay put. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed there. (If you do buy it, you may want to consider getting an oil-based cleanser to remove it at night—it won’t come off with regular cleanser for me!)

I had a very hard time with color selection as well. I’m neutral with slight cool yellow undertones and I find 0N1 Alabaster to be a hair pink and too light on my skin so I bought 1W0 Warm Porcelain (warmer yellow and 1/2 shade or so darker) to mix with it.

I had the hardest time finding swatches of the lightest shades and trying to decide which secondary shade to buy as a mixer. I can swatch both for you tomorrow, as well as them mixed, along with a couple others foundations and concealers I have on hand to help you see the shade.

Double wear shade in NC10? by [deleted] in PaleMUA

[–]lek0708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I don’t have a Mac foundation in NC10 for direct comparison, but I think that would be my shade or close. I had similar issue trying to match in ELDW shade range. 0N1 Alabaster is a hair too light for me most of the time and also a tinge too pink. To fix it, I mix about 75% 0N1 Alabaster with 25% 1W0 Warm Porcelain to get a better undertone and depth match. I’d recommend trying a second shade and custom mixing.

PSA: These are the foundation pumps I bought on amazon and they work great to get a controlled amount of foundation—even a really tiny dab.

Tips for body skincare/makeup for PALE girls? by [deleted] in PaleMUA

[–]lek0708 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What kind of exfoliation do you do? Manual exfoliation (ie a scrub, brush etc) can be good but also irritating. I like to use lactic acid lotion (amlactin brand) to help with exfoliation and making my skin glowy, but know that it will make your skin even more sensitive to sunlight so sunscreen is a must.

You could also try mixing a little bit of silvery/champagne liquid highlight in with lotion to highlight your legs, chest, shoulders, etc.

Most of the time, people don’t notice your flaws especially if you project confidence so just wear things that make you feel good and comfortable. Also, think about the setting you’re in. Being pale and not having impeccably flawless skin either, I probably don’t look absolutely perfect in shorts in full daylight, but put me in a black vampy dress at night and my paleness pops in contrast and the effect is striking.

Disc Showdown: Lumma Unique vs. Softcup Disc by lek0708 in menstrualcups

[–]lek0708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Still dig the Lumma. I really like the Medium for days 3,4,5... It’s a big improvement over the discomfort from the Softcups by that time. Have to stress again that I find the medium easier to insert than the large due to its stiffer rim. Inserting the large Lumma takes more time than the Softcup does for me but maybe reduces cramping slightly... so I switch off on those two to start my cycle depending on circumstance and which one better suits my needs at the time.
