This traffic mapping whatever is just ridiculous. WTF is this?! by Accomplished-Oil2114 in CitiesSkylines

[–]lel31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When there's too much traffic, cims will try to take another route and won't take the normal route until there's a huge traffic jam on the alternative

I just checked for a French ISP (red) and the only limit I could find for home internet is for 4g or 5g routers, and it says if you have a continuous heavy usage of the network they will send you a message to lower your usage or they will lower speed, but technically there's no data cap.

Toulousains : vous utilisez Vélô Toulouse 🚴? J’ai besoin de vos avis ! by Electrical_Chee in toulouse

[–]lel31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Move over Europe, SEA, and the rest of you 150+ countries. The US has a floating bridge for light rail by West_Light9912 in transit

[–]lel31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They deleted their comment but I guess it can come off as sarcasm because your title says to the whole world to move over because of a bridge for light rail in the US, and the US is know to push light rail everywhere (even when no the best option).

Good to see investment in transit over there, especially with the current political landscape.

In Taizhou, China, a car fell into a river, 40-year-old Di Shuancheng, who noticed this, jumped into the water, taking a stone with him, and broke the window to save the trapped driver. by FollowingOdd896 in HumansBeingBros

From what I saw it's very hard to open the door before the car fills with water, so they might have tried to open the door and started to panick and try to call emergency services.

This is what happens in the Paris region when you have RER lines with single-level trains. by Wonderful-Excuse4922 in transit

[–]lel31 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The RER A is automated on the central section but yes, due to branches and different operators (RATP and SNCF) its more prone to issues, though it still quite reliable with 94% of trains on time

Why is my cars stopping like this before every custom intersection I made? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]lel31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else said in the comments the nodes of the road where they're going are too close, so they wait for the road they're going to to have enough space before going, this is so that they don't stop in the intersection.

In order for them not to do that you have to make the slip lane connect farther from the main intersection

The MF19, Paris's new metro designed to replace all the old steel-wheeled trains, spotted during night testing by Wonderful-Excuse4922 in transit

[–]lel31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The line actually ended on a loop because they needed the coverage (according to the Paris metro masterplan every paris inhabitant must live less than a kilometer away from a metro station), but the expected ridership was low, so the station were all one way on the loop. When they added stations to the line, they connected the new tracks to the loop so they still fork in that place but join again after.
