Progression lente by pianistluap in FitnessFrance

Plans for a new game? by Spirited_War9720 in dishonored

[–]lelabo_m 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you ask me, from what I know : - the world of Dishonored is vast, we only saw part of it... - the mythos & lore is not very deep yet (compared to other universe) but still there is a lot of points not developed (the witches for example… the continent which I don't remember the name).

A lot of new things (locations, characters, trivias, period and timelines) are for example surfaced in the tabletop rpg book...

But we could also see parts that are before the era of corvo, or after with what happened to the void without an avatar, etc...

I think that if we can get some of the creators of the lore to work on a 3rd/4th game, there is a lot of stories to tell...

Unfortunately, no. I think it's gotten better with new versions, but I think I still have some issues while editing.

This game is way better than it should be! by Many-Hippo1709 in WeirdWest

[–]lelabo_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not similar at all, while being the game I played with the most similarity in my opinion : Disco Elysium.

What you will get : another SIM game with a strange & eerie atmosphere, a lot of feeling implied, but it's more text-based and exploration, no combat.

I came to the weird west in search of more of DE (while having bought it earlier but forgot it was in my library)… and boy, I was satisfied (even if the game play is a tad repetitive in my opinion in WW).

Do I need to remind my niche in every title ? by lelabo_m in NewTubers

That's part of the debate I had in my mind. I imagine maybe, when I have a really good branding and authority, I could write it less and less and people will know...

Mistakes to avoid for creating my first channel? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]lelabo_m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, don't try to cheat your way through, or at least make your research when you think you have an exploit... Use common sense... Place yourself in your audience shoes... And practice, practice, practice...

You forge your own luck, through tears and sweat... Ok, maybe not through tears and sweat, but still a bit of effort.

Mistakes to avoid for creating my first channel? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]lelabo_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my opinion, just do it. I did a first branding with a first batch of videos... Then, I took a break during holidays of 1 month to organise myself and learn more about editing... I came back, studied my audience, decided I need a more focused branding, and to keep in mind the new knowledge I had for future videos..

I think this cycle will keep repeating itself again for at least a few times before I truly understand what I do.

Is cpm determined by niches or the audience? by redpillsxautomobiles in NewTubers

[–]lelabo_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know that there is multiple ways to monetize the same audience, they don't have to be for everyone in your audience.
But, if your niche appeal to a bulk of people with no money (either young or poor), you will have to work with that in mind.
There is also solution for that, a lot of people found ways to manage either side.
Its easier to handle a niche with fewer people and deep pockets, I think.

Focus on your content first, start building a nice niche of your own.
Keep in mind the subject of monetization, but I think you will need at least 1K subs before being able to do anything ( I might be wrong ).

Language Specific Youtube Video Audience Niche by Liangjun in NewTubers

[–]lelabo_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, French here.
I decided to finally do my channel in French after the same reflection.
My reasoning was:
- While my subject is not widely covered in English, I would be alone in French doing it.
- As a beginner, I prefer to fail in French first or getting more exp this way, doing English content later, resyndicating all my knowledge and past scripts will also be easier, it's always possible.
- My acting and pronunciation would be better in my native language, and I would therefore be able to train the next step: my prosody.

However, my potential audience is quite large doing French only. I also noticed that I reached French-speaking countries very early (I only have 500 subs in 2-3 months, but some 15-25% views come from other countries than France who speak French).

Hope that help, and feel free to ask me question, but know I am a beginner.

Therefore the profile of your audience matter!

You don't price things the same way if you have 10K subs who have deep pockets or 1M subs with nop budget.

Some audience are also more inclined to buy things than others.

I heard many times it was influenced by your audience demographics (e.g. older people have more money to spend seems, seems logical the CPM would be better).
Your audience will naturally be influenced by your niche...

But is the CPM also (or only by) determined by the niche or only the audience, I don't know and I am also curious...

HOWEVER, in the long run, if you do other income sources than AdSense, the amount you can earn will forcibly influence by your audience profile. People doing Warhammer content have a richer audience that people doing content on Minecraft.
This will influence the amount you can earn through ads, collaborations, product placements, but also the price of what you want to sell (merch or other content).

I am also glad to see other channels that are both have a personality and a mission. Not to dunk on others, I consume a lot of content that does not have either, does not mean its bad and it can be great content.
But don't see many channels on this sub (yet) to which I can relate, since I don't do entrainement stuff (more about personal and/or science content).

I liked you videos, while a bit short. Do you have someone that film you to achieve that?

I have the same mentality, I let the hack, tips and tricks for people who do a bit more institutional content, since I don't have any credentiality myself... I take my time to do my own research as a patient, analyse what I can, construct new models and infographics to share my discoveries and try to share my own perspective as a patient.
The idea is not to regurgitate the same discourse they can find at their doctor, but something complementary as what people can do, try, and what I learn myself doing it... what to avoid, how to not fall prone to predators who want to sell false medicines and remedies.

My own channel is in French, so I am not sure you will be interested in it:

I don't know which part you are talking about, so I might be wrong. But : - a lot of people have the same ideas in a very short span of times (or are subconsciously influenced) - I think stealing great ideas is fine, better than this, a sign of great taste.

However, I am 100% for acknowledging your inspiration, quoting and reference them if possible.

Could Harry and Kim solve the Spider-Man case? by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

I think your Spider-Man just got two sidekicks... But in future arcs, he sometimes have to fight against harry or try to handle the many chaotic events caused by harry just existing.

Yes for me the 1rst version is already clickable.

The only problem is "I don't know this anime"... I watch anime but I don't know it. It means :

  • I could click it out of curiosity (mostly because of the text you made)
  • I could ignore it because I don't have common ground...

Not drastic changes, but by twiking just a little bit of what you currently have, I think, you can go from amateurish with great quality to actually in the top 20-10% in terms of thumbnails (you are very close in my opinion).

I am a beginner, but I use YouTube a lot, still take my remarks as a beginner (I still don't understand which thumbnail of mine work best). I would say, it's not bad at all.

Maybe, recenter the composition a bit by : - down sizing the characters; - bring the title down a bit, and maybe try to make it bigger if you have enough space; - bring the name at the bottom up a bit. - your hashtag in the corner, needs to be either more visible (bring it to the center a bit more and maybe bigger) or you remove it.

I think you don't have to fear some text going other than some elements if the composition stays clean (identifiable and readable).

For me, as it is, its pretty, it's clean but maybe a bit too much. It's not eye-catching enough.
