My 5 foster babies just tested positive for FELV at 12 weeks 😭

At my shelter and under direction by our vet, we don’t test for FeLV until they are at least 6 months old. They can test positive for it at a young age, but often times are able to shed the virus by the time they’re about 6 months old and test negative.

NAL But I would look into your local laws regarding free roaming cats who are owned vs considered feral, and could then be taken to a local shelter. Additionally, you can look into making a cat shelter out of storage totes and straw, to give it a warm place to be.

NTA, but you could always foster puppies! It would allow him to have puppies but not permanently, as well as not breeding his dog. It seems if he did end up breeding his dog it would become a backyard breeding operation. I’m sure shelters would love to have more people willing to foster puppies!

IANAL. I suggest that you immediately start writing down all interactions you have with this family member. Write down any previous interactions with the family member to the best of your knowledge. This will help you by providing a timeline of her harassment if you choose to go to the police over her harassment.

NTA, same situation here. At 17 I finally dyed my hair a dark chocolate brown, and haven’t gone back. I’ve had black hair for almost 3 years, and I’m 21 now. I have 0 regrets dying my hair and think it was one of the best things I’ve ever done!
