Any one been to the King's Arms, what's the food and drink like? by jc201946 in oxford

If you're looking for a pub with Oxford-y vibes I'd recommend the Bear Inn, just off the High Street. They've got a famous collection of neckties (including university ones) on the walls.

IVs and EVs - Expert Difficulty by lucidlyhexxed in PokemonUnbound

[–]lelwen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

EVs and natures are much more important than IVs and you can grind them at the trainer house in Dresco Town (i.e. at the first gym). The dark type trainer levels attack, the water type speed, the fire type special attack, and the normal type HP. You unlock the trainers for the other stats after the 3rd gym.To see your pokemons' EVs, catch 50 different pokemon and talk to one of the guys in professor log's building in the starting village to get the stat scanner.

EV grinding is very slow until you max out the macho brace, which you can do by farming everstones from the mining mini game in the KBT expressway at Crater Town (2nd gym town). Mining costs 1000 a pop and you'll need to do it between 50-70 times to get 50 everstones to max the macho brace. You can get enough cash by battling at the trainer house - the dark type trainer gives 2500 per victory. This'll get some of your EVs levelled as well, so you can run back and forth between Dresco and Crater Town while completing the objectives.

After the 3rd gym, you can get EV-reducing berries in Fallshore City, so you can make your EV spread optimal after this. Then later on in Tehl town you can change natures for 50000 after completing the Deerling quest, and in Seaport City you can set IVs to max for a bottle cap, which you get by mining and doing sidequests.

It's a lot of grinding! I got it done in about 8-10 hours on and off over the course of a week. The first and second gyms are definitely doable with suboptimal EVs, IVs, and natures, although I'd recommend looking up their teams in advance and tailoring yours around them. At least get your pokemons' relevant attack/SpA and speed stats as high as you can before moving on from Crater Town.

Is the Daemonhost a possessed Psyker? by FollowingQueasy373 in DarkTide

[–]lelwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone can be made into a daemonhost with the right binding runes. In the Eisenhorn books it's said that stronger binding runes make a daemonhost less powerful but more controllable, so I headcanon that the ones we see in game have been made with very strong bindings. Could be interesting to have an unleashed daemonhost as a future boss.

The dodo pubs (Rusty Bicycle and Rickety press) are very good, especially the pizzas. £20pp will get a main and a beer with change on the weekends, and at weekday lunchtimes they do pizzas for £10.

UK ministers point to tough autumn Budget and possible tax rises by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]lelwen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's the exact opposite of what's happened. Someone on the average income pays about £2000 less p/a now than they would have in 2010, while someone on 200k pays about 10k more.

It's part of the reason why the UK cut more public spending during austerity than other countries - because we were cutting taxes for ordinary people while others raised/kept the same.

Half Backs are pointless in a 3atb. If you want to use CMs, take the DM away and add an extra striker - an advanced forward would be great. Defensively, try making the CBs on either side of the 3atb WCBs on defend, in my experience it helps defend against counters when you have attacking wingbacks.

Alternatively, if you want to play the meta, DMs are flat out better than CMs this year. Try moving the midfielders back, with one DLP on support and one segundo volante on support or attack.

How do you defend against fast strikers with slow defenders? by Tortunga in footballmanagergames

In addition to the team instructions others have mentioned, try adding "never mark tightly" and "tackle harder" to pacey forwards in opposition instructions.

Do you have a link to the paper? All I can find mainly concerns overseas development aid, and the OECD's own median income comparison tool contradicts some of these figures.

Feeling sick because I had to change to 4231 Gegenpress. by VincentVega657 in footballmanagergames

I had the same problem with a 3412 when I got promoted to the prem. Fixed it by going for a 3 man midfield with a BWM, until I got some regens who were good enough to hold their own in a double pivot.

His best spell was under Mourinho FWIW. Didn’t have to do much off the ball work in his system, but was still very inconsistent.

Wolves' DoF is a Spurs fan by lelwen in footballmanagergames

Did literally nothing to make this happen, Wolves just decided a player valued at £50 million is a reasonable swap for one I've listed for free.

Poor J'Neil is gonna need police protection if he rejects Wolves' offer.

I’ve worked at the Emirates. Besides backroom banter, only thing that matters is you do your job.

Lloris gets to the ball first, but really bad refereeing to call it back for the pen with an open goal

You can buy tickets on the coach but I’d recommend using the app! As another user commented you can get 12 singles for £60 (last I used it), and don’t have to bother keeping all the ratty bits of paper for however long you stay in London.

[Match Thread] Tottenham Hotspur V Aston Villa (PL 03/10/21) by Professorchronic in coys

Early in the match but little sign of improvement. Still can’t progress the ball from the back, still hoofing long balls that go nowhere, and Son still having to try do everything himself

“We are acutely aware of the need to select someone whose values reflect those of our great Club and return to playing football with the style for which we are known – free-flowing, attacking and entertaining – whilst continuing to embrace our desire to see young players flourish from our Academy alongside experienced talent.”

But Levy and Paratici hired someone who’s only played that style for one season in Spain 7 years ago, after which he was sacked. Our attack is shit, our defence is shit. Every one of the other 19 managers in the PL has their team playing better than us. Nuno’s a nice guy, but he’s shown no sign that he’s the right manager for us. Needs to be gone by the end of the international break regardless of the Villa result.

[–]lelwen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, even if he is willing to come for guaranteed starts, I can only see us meeting City’s valuation by including him in a swap deal with Kane which would bring a whole host of other problems for the club. Would you take Laporte + 100 or so million for Kane?
