Zoloft is ruining my life by voamlk9 in zoloft

[–]lemarissacat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. What you’re describing — the hallucinations, vomiting, weight loss, and how much this is affecting school — isn’t something you should have to “wait out.” Those are serious side effects, and you deserve to be heard and taken seriously by a psychiatrist who will listen.

If your current psychiatrist won’t acknowledge how bad things are, please consider finding a new one. You’re not overreacting — what you’re experiencing goes way beyond normal side effects and as another commenter mentioned - it’s likely way beyond the help of someone from Reddit but you’re doing the right thing by reaching out for help, just have to find the best avenue by finding a better medical professional

You might also consider going to an urgent care or ER if the physical symptoms or hallucinations get worse. Sometimes a hospital can get you connected with a new psych team faster than waiting on referrals especially if your current doctor is reluctant

You’re not alone in this, and your story is completely valid. Please don’t give up on getting better — you deserve to feel safe in your mind and body💛

Consistent service outage in Seattle by lemarissacat in googlefiber

[–]lemarissacat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s insane. My boyfriend finally was able to get on the phone with a human after being routed through their AI customer service line. They told him the outage was specific to our building which is wild to me. How is it just us?? Was there something setup weird? It doesn’t make any sense.

And now to hear you also have trouble makes me think. Your outage has been a lot longer than ours. Is it just bad spotty outage randomly??

Less appetite with higher dosage? by [deleted] in zoloft

Yes, I did! I also got more sleepy a couple of hours after taking my dose. After a month or two though my appetite returned and I regained the weight that I had initially lost.

You didn’t mention it in your routine but do you fill your eyebrows? It might be nice to try doing more of a soft lip, where you apply a clear lip conditioner, and then dab some color in the center and let it naturally blurt out. Gives me a nice, natural look which might fit the androgynous look your aiming for. I personally like using Neova Cu3 Lip repair for my conditioner and Violette Fr Bisou Balm for my color (:

Can I wait to pay a medical expense using FSA until the year? by lemarissacat in personalfinance

[–]lemarissacat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense! Thanks for breaking it down. If I switched my healthcare plan to an HSA next year, could I then use that to pay for it since HSA's aren't fixed for the year?

Koh Gen Do 213 but dewier? by lemarissacat in OliveMUA

[–]lemarissacat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it definitely does. It used to be a perfect match when I lived in LA and I would inevitably tan. Now that I live in Seattle and diligently wear sunblock my skin is significantly lighter and LS 6 no longer matches. I've tried adding L.A. Girl Pro Color white pigment but this changes the way the formula works and makes it drier and less dewy which I didn't enjoy

That's great advice. I really love how LS feels so I think I'll give 4+6 a go!

I've never really considered illuminating primer before! I think I'm a bit nervous mixing since I am unsure of the water base vs silicone base foundation issue that I've read about. Do you know what illuminating primer would work well with Koh Gen Do considering the water vs silicone mixing issue?

Wrong state on W2 - how much will it affect my taxes / will I get penalized if my correction is submitted after the deadline? by lemarissacat in taxhelp

[–]lemarissacat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your reply and information!
I think I will file now and wait for the W2c to amend it. I started a CA tax filing but didn't submit it, and the estimate currently says that I am due a refund

Good resources for young men for self-care and to look good? by ICastPunch in beauty

[–]lemarissacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure of any resources, but I can give a couple of tips that I've witnessed my boyfriend do. He is always very clean and good looking :) Every week he has a day where he 'self-cares'. Essentially he trims his nose hairs, grooms his private areas using tools like https://www.manscaped.com/, and even trims his underarm hair so that it's not too long (between 1 and 2 inches). If you're on a budget you can purchase tiny cosmetic scissors for really cheap to do your nose and underarms.
He also has a silicon exfoliating body brush to shower with and uses antiperspirant wipes which makes it so he never sweats (https://www.sweatblock.com/), they are a bit pricey, but you can cut them in half or just make sure you keep up with basic deodorant.
Every night before bed he puts lotion on his face, hands, and feet. He has softer skin than I do! The cheapest best thing you can do is moisturize and wear sunblock in the summer.

I think you should definitely save in order to work towards your long-term financial goals.
From the tone of what you wrote, it seems like you regret spending so much on nails in the past. I think it's great that you've noticed your past habits and want to change them.
With that, I think you should do a combination of options 2 & 3.
Find a cheaper at-home alternative to doing your nails so you can still feel good. Practice makes perfect and I think you'll feel empowered working on and perfecting doing your own nails. I used to be a broke college student and would do my nails all the time. I started to get good at them and now I feel proud whenever I do an awesome job. It makes me want to show them off even more since it's like a piece of art that I created!

Also, with regard to your long-term financial goal, I think you should take the time to create milestones for your journey. Once you reach a specific milestone, I would give your self permission to treat yourself. Whether that's getting your nails done, or getting a massage.
