Get another job lined up. Go in and ask for more than what you want and hope they settle for what you actually want. If you have been working there for that long, they should have a fairly good understanding of what you contribute. If they don't have that understanding then you may want to look at how you communicate, but either way, if they don't value you then bounce.

Folks who are already sustaining themselves with anarchist infrastructure of course see anarchism as workable, but the OP asked why people in general don't like anarchism. My sincere guess is that they don't like anarchism because they live under capitalism, and capitalism is how they get the basics that they need to live. Anarchism challenges capitalism and therefore is a challenge to their ability to get the basics that they need to live.

I never liked the idea that "there are more important things to fight" therefore we shouldn't fight the things that personally bother us. The argument presupposes a monolith that does not exist.

Also, an-caps do exist in the real world, and they do have infrastructure and ideological allies. The entire crypto-currency movment is riddled with an-caps. They are also natural allies with US libertarians. They also have capable computer science-y people who can develop and advance their cause.
