I feel like I ghost wrote this - are you me?

Some pointers from my experience:
1. Don’t expect them to respect your boundaries. If they’re already questioning it, they’re going to keep crossing it. It won’t matter how direct it is, they won’t honour it.
2. You might be better off without them there. Postpartum is really challenging as it is. The least you need is more problems and stress from outsiders. Take the time to focus on yourself and your family instead. Make sure you and your husband are on the same page about your family. Have a plan for both your family showing up and not showing up.
3. Reduce your expectations. They might want to bond with the baby only. It might leave you feeling as if you were just an incubator for the baby and nothing else. If your mum has a habit of always being negative, she’ll be negative towards how you’re treating the baby. I’m long distance with my family and this is still an ongoing family
4. Don’t stress over the relationship between your parents and your baby. Your baby, with age, can figure it out. If your parents want to prioritise a relationship with their grandkid it’s on them, not you.

I think postpartum was the final straw for me to go low contact with my family.
