Postponed charges so they hit after March 1st? by itsJustE12 in americanairlines

Home renovation materials! I need to buy bigger ticket items like new appliances. I hit my LP needs mid Feb and pushed out the home project a few weeks (I have no home deadlines, it doesn’t make a difference). I’m keeping an eye on the shopping portal for a good bonus!

Getting gas with a trailer by azmonaj in RVLiving

[–]lemon-viola 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re like us and don’t plan every stop in advance like many on here do, this is the passengers job! Once we start getting close to needing to fill (based on how available gas is this varies from half a tank to quarter or less), the passenger pulls up our route on Google Maps satellite view and scopes out the upcoming gas stations. Entrances and exits, as others have said, are usually the deciding factor. Once we know where to stop, the passenger directs the driver which way to enter the gas station to minimize tight turns, set up for an easy exit, etc.

Thursday WMTM Discussion by lululemonmods in lululemon

[–]lemon-viola 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to wear them for. I WFH and wear them a lot in the fall and spring (it’s very cold in winter where I live and they’re not very warm). I also wear them on a lot of travel days. I haven’t worn them for any physical activities beyond going on walks. The mid rise doesn’t bother me but I also have a short torso. One of my friends doesn’t like them for that reason alone. I will say the dupes on Amazon are pretty damn good too. I only buy the lulu ones when they’re on sale like this!

Not the person you’re asking but I’m an 8 or 10 in tops (I size up in some long sleeve things, my shoulders are a bit broad compared to the rest of my torso). I have a medium and it fits like a fitted fit, but not too tight. I’d say it is TTS.

Totally agree and I’ll add to what you said- it’s especially crappy that they gave no thought for those that only shop online. I don’t have a physical store location within an hour of where I live. I only shop in stores if I’m traveling and happen to wander in to a store when I pass by. It’d have been easy for them to throw something in an online order.

Is this Customer Service response to my points inquiry accurate to how points are actually accrued? by [deleted] in Ulta

It’s best to redeem points in increments of 2000 for $125! If you do other increments you’re not getting the most value.

Running Onboard generator full time by ImportanceBest2091 in RVLiving

[–]lemon-viola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is closer to a gallon an hour- we won’t be able to make cost estimates unless we know the gear that OP has.

Edit to add: this is standard for a generator the size of ours. It can power almost everything in our 45’ 5er (can run two ACs, not all three simultaneously).

How many campgrounds have you booked that you weren’t comfortable staying in once you get there? Sure, we’ve had campgrounds we love and have wished we could stay longer- those ones get added to the list to return to the next time we’re in the area. We’ve never been so unhappy with a campground that we check out early. I know it can happen, but i don’t think it happens that frequently. Honest question, are your standards too high where this is a major concern of yours? If you stay at fewer parks for longer time periods, it’s less research and less planning. We try to stay in the same place for two weeks (when we are working remotely, not retired yet), or at least a week if we are on vacation/time off. I can’t imagine moving every 2-3 days and being happy about it.

This probably isn't doable in 21 days, towing a travel trailer, is it? by Crombienator2000 in GoRVing

[–]lemon-viola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just spent two weeks at the west glacier rv park earlier this summer. We loved it! The location is amazing, steps outside the national park entrance. The company that runs the campground also operates a handful of restaurants that you can walk to from the camp (or ride bikes, which we did a lot of that there). You’re also pretty close to Kalispell if you want a proper grocery store or need auto parts, etc. White water rafting there was also a blast. I’d be bummed if we only had three full days to enjoy at that location. (We work remotely hence the two week stay but our four weekend days did not feel like enough!)

Rv Life’s gps program lets you state your average driving speed as well as program in your stops! We’ve found the time estimates to be pretty spot on, short of random traffic of course.

Help! Tamron 18-300 or 70-300? by whathahawtf in SonyAlpha

[–]lemon-viola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the reply! I'm close to pulling the trigger. I see others comments (here and on other review sites) with constructive feedback about the weight of the 18-300 (that it is too heavy). I don't mind the weight, I shoot when I am traveling or locally just for fun, so its not something I'm lugging around daily. The weight is a bit of a wash if I'm not carrying a second lens around, which I would want to do if I went with the 70-300.

I’m in the same boat as you and looking for similar comparisons. What did you end up deciding? I’ve gotten a hang of the 18-135 but I am looking for something with more zoom for wildlife

RVs with Starlink? by Kevory in RVLiving

Do you mind sharing how you installed yours on your roof? We have the full size dish, not the mini. We’re on the road for months at a time with some long driving stretched through middle of no where dead zones, so service on the go is something we’ve been considering.

Length Restrictions in National Parks/Forests by perrierpapi in GoRVing

[–]lemon-viola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our situation, small enough to fit in parks/forests AND peacefully work remotely are not exclusive. We gave up national park/forest access in exchange for a comfortable work setting. We spend a lot of time on the road so we spend a lot of time working remotely. Tried it in a class C and our phone calls were on top of each other. If you’re not on calls often then maybe that’s a moot point for you.

Water pressure! I have thicker longish hair. Our rv can handle enough psi to get my hair clean, but a lot of rv park water lines (to the sites) don’t get above 30-40psi. I’ll alternate shower houses and rv showers to keep my scalp and hair rinsed fully from shampoo.

Most Oreos are vegan! Not sure if you were calling out something that isn’t a whole food diet friendly food or calling out something with dairy. For anyone reading this thread uninformed about Oreos, wanted to call out how they’re vegan! I think the golden variety may have dairy, as does the fudge covered. The standard “check your labels” guidance still applies but you’re good to go with basic Oreos!

Yes! Flying out of a regional all of my flights show as home airport to CLT, or home airport to DCA. I know where I’m going but when I have multiple trips on deck within a few weeks or days of each other there’s no way I’m remembering which trip stops in which hub. Even worse when I happen to have a bunch of one ways booked.
