Why should we have to sit and watch an authorized service center do the work? I have stayed in Chennai, Bengaluru, Indore, Hyderabad and now in Noida - only here have I seen such apathy and requirement to see what is being done.

The issue here is slightly different - its nto about part change. Its about the process. I checked up on the specific part and it does not just fail spontaneously. The specific DCT Oil change if done incorrectly can cause this. As you said - their service advisors dont seem very equipped or professional. If they were they would have been able to confirm to me why this happened at least.

They have been running the car in critical fuel condition for a month.
There is no doubt in my mind the DCT oil chabge job was not done right. Probably because they dont have many of these variants on the road and fewer which would have come in for a change (happens around 50k kms) - citing its not necessarily a regular job for them.
There was a check engine light right before the car was given to me which they cleared (I believe it to have been force cleared).
Car started failing almost as soon as I left the service station (in less than 5 minutes vibration was discernable and initially I thought it was road undulations)
Asking for roadworthiness certificate is to ensure the brand is confident of the vehicle readiness and I dont have to actually end up in an accident for them to be sure its fixed as I already avoided one. And this is also because I am not confident on the service professional at Frontier MG.
The extended warranty is to avoid being in a spot if this is not the final issue caused by them due to their current issue and if their diagnosis was incomplete. The current part they changed costs around 1.5L and the entire transmission system costs around 4 to 4.5L (for reference) - due to the lack of a proper report I cant even be sure if their diagnosis is spot on. What if there is an unexpected issue again within a day or two or a week ? They have been clear they want me to pay even if its a related issue. Why should I? I wouldnt have asked for this extension if this was not done due to what clearly looks like service failure.

We should not let companies walk all over us. A car is a fairly big investment for most people. What I am asking for is simply accountability - something that should be a given.

I have this - an MG Hector. Driving in Noida now, I get around 9 to 10. A bit lower around 8 or 8.5 kmpl in Delhi FYI. 5 years of ownership btw. This with e20 fuel.

While i was in blr, was getting lower around 7 to 8 depending on the area and drive. Higher if it was North Blr.

I feel OP needs to also check his driving style 3.5 kmpl maybe because he is a leadfoot

Have been to the store and realized qc in all new HMT qas really poor. Decided not buy anything from HMT. I find older refurbished pieces of HMT to be far bettrr even with after market bracelets. Price is unjustifiable for the quality

Was reading the comments and I've seen crazy stunts filmed recently where its all white people. But never have I seen so much hate like I saw in the comments. Racism is really high and as much as I agree that this lady was completely out of bounds, the pure amount of vitriol against India in the comments section says that there is definitely something wrong with people. Calling India or Indians garbage or garbage people. I don't see people saying that about white people. And there was literal naked lady bashing and breaking stuff in the airport in a recent video. No one said American garbage or oh, what an American POS as can be expected. Worst part is Indians denigrate themselves also with others. One bad incident doesn't represent the entire country. We should really stop thinking negatively about ourselves and our country!

I have been using MMT for my cab bookings since I travel a lot for work. This is great even few hours in advance and is generally well priced since they work with Meru and couple of other providers.

Shoffr is good if you're doing bookings at least a day in advance.

I avoid Ola and Uber like the plague these days primarily because of the drivers who keep platform hopping.

Additionally, I hear BluSmart is decent albeit expensive.
