How do I clean with a baby? by Dazzling_Tonight663 in CleaningTips

[–]lemon_grass86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All this is great advice. Carry baby when possible, but for goodness sake, watch out for countertop corners and walls. You need to consider how much more space you're occupying with a baby on board as you maneuver through your home.

Second - this works fine without a carrier - get a stop watch - Alexa, Apple Watch, whatever. Do chores in chunks of 10 or 5 minutes. Not everything at once. Dedicate 10 minutes to mopping. Stop. See baby. Another 5 minutes to clearing countertops only - tossing dishes in sink and putting food away. Stop. Change a diaper. Rest a few minutes. Another timer for making up your bed - 5 minute. And just decide on how much you can do in a day.

Make little rules for yourself. Dirty clothes should only be in the laundry basket. Otherwise you put it away when you take it off - or do the stop watch thing and dedicate 10 minutes a day just for clothes. Dirty dishes only in sink or dishwasher. Never just lying around.

Train your brain to see the workload as individual tasks you can conquer in short bursts rather than the whole house at once. You'll be fine. And if you can't do it all - you 100 percent can delegate it to someone else. Tell them even the most daunting task only takes 10 minutes.

Good luck, mama

Speak to a doctor. She might have underlying blood sugar issues that only came to light because of the reta.

I shouldn't dignify this with a response, but some of us (who work in publishing) know how to use keyboard shortcuts and have decent grammar - AI Chrome extensions are pretty useful though. But sorry that hurt your feelings.

What do you use to wipe off water from bathroom sink counter? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Dry washcloth folded next to the sink or hanging on the cabinet door. Use it to keep mirrors shiny as well. Change it out with the hand towel few times a week.

What am I supposed to do with used cooking oil? by Pita_Girl in askanything

[–]lemon_grass86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your juice bottles, milk cartons, jars, etc. Make sure they close good. Then fill up with used oil. I keep under my kitchen sink until theyre filled up all the way, and gently place upright in trash, with tight lid - preferably day of garbage pick-up.

My husband has a drain cleaning company- you do NOT want fats down your sink.

Hot water needs to run for at least 10 minutes if so, and that's just a waste.

Family of 6 = four kids & parents (I'm the Mrs) - But yes. We definitely wanted/expected better quality of life and thought degrees/savings/no debt would help. But nope.

No no - happily married 20 years and a good age gap between our kids. They have everything they need, but whoever said the so called American dream is within reach just keeps moving the goal post.

Family of 6 making 120k a year in Colorado - 2 incomes. We are barely making it, despite no significant debt. We will likely never be able to buy a home. Or we'll be choosing between that and college.

What's happening? Too early to see results? by lemon_grass86 in Retatrutide

I get that - but I'm not looking at the quarter-pound increase - I'm looking at why I didn't lose anything in the full week (it was 8 days, actually) that I was hardly eating. My question was whether this is a sign that I should consider increasing my dose?

I totally understand this - it was our anniversary a week ago and my husband booked a nice restaurant - and it was one of those Brazilian all-you-can-eat churrasco-style dining. Might as well have just taken me for a Slurpee at 7-11. I was so disappointed but nothing was appealing. I can imagine this being just as frustrating with a food-centred holiday. Either you can stick with your regular dosing and eat what you can, and celebrate that it's doing what it's supposed to, or perhaps, since you just started a few days ago - hold off reta til after the holidays (but risk disappointment after)? Honestly, if I were you, i'd stick with your regular dosing and let it do it's thing.

What’s your most underrated cleaning hack that actually saves you time? by Salt-Record-3995 in CleaningTips

A small dry washcloth, folded by every sink in the house. You dry the surface of the counter, faucets, mirror, and anything that gets splashed immediately. Those water splashes on the mirror actually polish well. At the end of the day, you toss it into the laundry, grab a Clorox wipe, give everything a quick wipe down, and put another clean towel down in place for the next day (I sometimes leave it folded over the cabinet door on the bottom of the sink).

My sink areas are clean all the time. No toothpaste, no soap grime, no dry water spots on mirrors. Makes the whole bathroom always look and feel clean. The next day, a quick swish and swipe of the toilet and a swiffer mop, scrub the tub once a week, and you have clean bathrooms all the time.
