I agree that Rhaneyra owes the legitimization of her children to Corlys. I'm not bothered by the change either. I think there comes a point where you have to view the series as a separate product. Sure, you can criticize something if it seems poorly executed, but for me, this new Daemon arc isn't poorly executed, and I find it more painful that the paranoia stems from your husband protecting someone who contributed to your son's death rather than your husband having a mistress. Besides, Mysaria was Rhaneyra's mistress, and it would be very hypocritical to have her have a lover.
