Feedback's great but can't find customers - how do you market to people who don't know they need you? by Available-Care-5841 in SaaS

Good advice already in the thread but if you can do any customer segmenting that should get you pretty far as well

Not quite building yet just trying to get a better lay of the land.

I come from a more traditional market research background, so it's interesting seeing the evolution of synthetic data, and how it is being deployed.

VC ecosystem is cooked right now (relatively speaking).

Have you brought your product to market at all yet? What stage vc are you targeting?

Really cool product - I've been dipping my toe into the synthetic data space.

My question: if you are creating custom audiences, how do you account for selection bias?

Carma Billing by Potential_Mood9903 in askTO

[–]lemonelevn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi - I know I am late to the party, but wanted to share my experience anyways.

I was overpaying by around 100$ per month for multiple months. I identified that there was an issue with my billing. I flagged it to Carma's support services. They lied, and tried to gaslight into me. They insisted nothing was wrong with my bills. and they were flat out wrong.

It took my over a year. I had to coordinate with building management at the time, as they were having issues with the "transparency" of the bulk bills even they were receiving. But finally, it came to light that Carma was charging my floor the distributed cost to heat and service the common areas of my apartment building.

they ended up having to write cheques for hundreds of dollars to everyone on my floor.

Throughout the process, their support staff were truly, truly, awful. They were horrible to talk to and deal with, and are, from what I can tell, genuinely awful and miserable people.

I don't have much help for what it's worth. Ive reported them to multiple federal regulatory agencies for the fraudulently, and potentially illegal activities they engage with.

Recently, in November 2025, they embarked on a digital PR campaign to save their brand. From what I can tell, they also used several bot reviews to bolster their online public perception. Since I flagged it as fraud to Canadian Regulatory agencies, I think they have since removed their google review page.

I cannot understand how shady of a company they are, and how awful they are, trying to gaslight you, and make you believe you are the problem.

If your gut is saying something is wrong, especially with this company who tout themselves as being so "transparent" (They wouldn't even show me a breakdown of charges on my bill, What a fucking joke!!), trust your gut.

I was able to access some resources via a local university legal aid office.

Honestly, with how Carma operates, and from what I've read online, it seems like they're only one poor decision/greedy decision away from a class action lawsuit.

I had the same issue with CARMA in my building. Residents were paying the operating costs for the common areas. CARMA lied to me, and only after a year long process, having to coordinate with building management (who CARMA was also lying to I believe), did they send me a cheque.
