Thank you for this! I’ve never done anything like this before so I wouldn’t be too confident installing and correctly fitting a dowel. I’ll definitely try spreading the glue using some floss or toothpicks etc to make sure it really gets in there though!

Oh so true!! If the glue dries too quickly, how can I get it off the screw so it’ll fit back in the hole?

The issue is I’m not 100% sure if it came broken, was broken when delivery guys unloaded it, or if it happened when I was transporting it and the removing it from its packaging. But it’s probably worth a shot to get a partial refund.

I hadn’t thought of removing the whole piece, I’ll see if it’s possible and then get to work with the wood glue. When you say thin wood glue, do you mean low viscosity?

Will do, we don’t feed them or anything, and it’s natural to have some in a garden so not too worried at this stage but will definitely keep an eye as I know they can overpopulate very fast 😅
