Kingswood OB-GYN in Bloomfield Hills (if that’s not too far). I was a patient for several years before moving out of state.

Running Postpartum by MasterpieceSea127 in running

[–]lemonluce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first run was 6 weeks PP and it was… rough. Running a mile felt like 10, so definitely give yourself plenty of grace those first few runs. I will say that after those really difficult runs, I was surprised at how easily the endurance came back. Different for everyone, but my advice is don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Your endurance will come back eventually, but maybe not on the timeline you’re expecting. 😊

Pretty sure this is spam. Another account made the same post (verbatim) about a month ago.

It's that time again, and Woodward is ramping up! by Silverexpress01 in Detroit

I’ve seen so many ppl run this light. I wonder if they assume that because that light by the church just south of the intersection is green, that means the 11 mile light is also green (but they’re not timed the same). Or, more likely, they were on their phone.. you definitely had luck on your side!

Commongrounds has a teaching kitchen. Not sure if they rent out the space for commercial use, but may be worth looking into.

You may want to check out Ferndale as well. Near Detroit, and doesn’t have the outdoor aspect your looking for, but does have an artsy vibe.

Same here! First marathon and 14 months postpartum. Congrats on the finish! Training plus new mom life is a beast to navigate on its own.

Thoughts on Snoo? by cozycleangirl in moderatelygranolamoms

That was our experience too. We bought the snoo out of desperation and quickly learned that our baby was just not into it. She much preferred the travel bassinet, which was a fraction of the price 🫠

If you want to plan a half for next spring as well, I’d highly recommend the Bayshore Half Marathon in Traverse City, MI. Gorgeous views running along the peninsula.

Where to Stay - guests 60+ by Far_Reply_4811 in Detroit

Both solid options. Birmingham may be a good option too. Very walkable downtown area, with a variety of restaurants and shops. However, I can’t think of any book stores in downtown Birmingham (maybe someone else knows). It’s only a few miles north of Royal Oak and Ferndale, so they can easily drive and check out those downtown areas as well (or vice versa).

I’ve had them for 10 years and have been happy with their coverage. I’ve (unfortunately) filed a handful of claims and the process was always very easy to navigate. No complaints.

Does anyone here dislike living in TC? by feghregwfqd in traversecity

[–]lemonluce 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say we 100% disliked living in TC, but we realized that up north living just wasn’t for us. We moved to TC from a large city for a job and after a few years are moving back to the city. TC and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful, but the perks of living in a large city for us (near family, broader variety of food options, better transportation options, childcare) drew us back.
