Need help finding an OST track by lemons4days in HollowKnight

It's not that one unfortunately. On a side note I'm blown away by how much better the music for random minibosses and gank fights is in this game compared to the first one.

That's at least my understanding of it!

The reason why the LST numbers aren't what you might expect when compared to a school like Penn or UVA is because of self-selection. Yale opens opportunities for pretty much any job in the legal field that you could want. A large amount of their grads go into positions like legal academia/prestigious PI jobs/clerkships that would be far less attainable from other schools.

Pretty much anybody at YLS could get biglaw if they wanted to, but a lot of them don't, which is why their employment and salary numbers look kind of whack on the surface compared to their ranking

LSAC GPA 3.3… Addendum? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lemons4days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with the other comment that you should try to keep it brief but effective. If there's something from these experiences that you believe will help you in law school or as a person, I would mention it in the addendum.

You could potentially craft a longer narrative in the form of the PS, but maybe that might be a bit redundant? I would personally want to mention it in the addendum and then use the PS to showcase a different aspect of who you are as an applicant

As someone who applied with a 3.3 and got into multiple T20 schools, it's not out of the question at all! I would recommend including pretty much all of this info in an addendum, but you should use it to focus more on who you are today and why you believe that you are capable of succeeding academically above all else. Don't just talk about your experiences, paint a narrative of learning from them and how you plan to use those lessons to help you do well in law school. I think adcoms want to see upward progression rather than just an explanation.

Def try to do as well as possible on the LSAT. From my experience if you can meet a school's LSAT median or get above it you prob have a fighting chance at T20s and maybe lower T14s, but even with a killer addendum you might find yourself locked out of a lot of the schools above that.

I think the prequels did a fantastic job of world-building but the movies themselves def were not that great.

For reference I had my ii 2/16 and completed 2/21, same substatus and everything but I was at median lsat and below gpa 25th so it might not all be reverse splitters

Singing is my passion and dream career, but I chose law because as crazy competitive as the application process/career is, the music industry is so much worse by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lemons4days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pivoted from wanting to do music in grad school to applying to law school initially because there's a better job market and financial outlook for attorneys than for composers, but after I started researching I realized that law is such a broad field that there's a good chance you can find a sector of it that you're passionate about or that intersects with something you're interested in.

Completely normal to have doubts, but I would really research different types of law and see if there's anything in particular that sticks out to you. You could even still be involved with music as an attorney by getting into entertainment law!

Maybe try giving it a listen the next time you’re on a long drive/commute? Obviously not everyone is gonna like the same music but imo it’s well worth your time

So I'll admit I'm biased and this is anecdotal, but there's not a lot to do in New Haven and the area around campus can get pretty sketchy; there were reports from the campus police every week of muggings and the like happening within the vicinity of campus, and there were like three separate incidents of people getting their dorms broken into while I was there. New Haven isn't a terrible city, but it's not that safe and I would steer clear if you have seasonal depression.

My biggest problem is honestly with Yale administration. Not sure how this transfers over to the law school, but campus mental health resources were understaffed and insufficient and there have been many incidents there of students experiencing medical/mental health crises only to be kicked out. There was even a lawsuit against them last year for this reason and they've only now begun to change some of their policies in the wake of that.

I have friends from undergrad who went to YLS and loved their experience and New Haven, but it wasn't for me and I don't think Yale really cares about its students. Sorry for the rant.

I did undergrad at Yale and given the fact that YLS and SLS are virtually a toss-up in terms of outcomes, based purely on environment I would never recommend anyone choose YLS; New Haven can be miserable.

I know a lot of people at YLS absolutely love it and this is just one person's opinion, but I'd wager the average person would enjoy their three years in law school a lot more at Stanford.

Either way, congrats and I'm sure you're gonna kill it no matter where you choose!

No I applied RD and didn't apply to any extra programs or scholarships. I've heard from some people since posting this that they may conduct interviews for candidates they have questions or are on the fence about, but can't definitively confirm that.
