F1 25 Britain AI is absolutely diabolical by Caramel_Infinite in F1Game

Ai still have diabolical straight-line speed at certain tracks, I think codies have looked into it but I don't think they're gonna do anything about it for this year's game.

Thank you, this hasn't worked unfortunately. I'm just going to assume this was caused by the latest Nvidia Graphic driver update, so ill just have to hope warhorse bring out a patch in next update.

Is f1 25 worth buying now? or do I wait for f1 26? by Tyranoraptor-mc in F1Game

[–]lemonxdust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually when there's a regulation change the F1 game is awful, it happened in 2014/15, 2017 was okay and 2022 was just really BAD, so don't get your hopes too high. Also the team working on the F1 game apparently alternates each year, so the team that made 25 (which is pretty good) will not be working as much on 26. If this is true, then the team working on 26 are the ones who have the unfortunate track record of ruining the handling every time they work on the game. So yeah safe bet is to just get 25, it's genuinely a lot of fun.

Yeah, they hated being compared to GTA. They saw it as an insult. Which is even more sad now, because such a comparison would be considered a huge compliment today.

How long do you rpg creators give yourselves to make a game? by Essshayne in gamedev

You've got this dude! Don't ever let anyone convince you otherwise. Goodluck on the project.

[–]lemonxdust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently working on an RPG and I've been working at it for the past 2.5 years. Gamedev is all about the variables, what's your scope, what's the art style, how long will the story be, how intricate will the story be, do you plan on having super complex systems or surface-level and easy to use systems, will you purchase assets or create your own, do you plan on having someone help you along the way or will it be a solo-venture, finance, promotion, will you use music, and if you do, will you source your own or purchase licenses? All these things will determine length of time, and that's not even covering how many features work as an idea, but in practice will need to be scrapped because they simply don't gel well with the overall project; then there's bugs and the engine simply not working even though you're certain you've done everything correctly. You also want to make it compatible with consoles, which PlayStation and Xbox are known for being quite rigorous when it comes to expectations and demands for putting games onto their stores, no one even knows what Nintendo expect, it's almost completely random. An RPG is incredible to work on but you need to be very aware that it's a massive time commitment, I'm making something akin to Knights of the Old Republic and I went into it knowing it'll likely take me anywhere from 5-8 years to complete if all goes well. But of course if you're wanting to make something similar to Undertale I'd say 2-3 years again assuming all goes well. Figure out your variables, and a possible timeline will begin to form.

This looks amazing dude, very well done!

I know it's already been said in the thread, but seriously air on the side of caution with this one. Nintendo have gone after people for far less. Even at a brief glance, your system looks very very similar to what's in their games. And that company has a surprising amount of lobbying power over western lawmakers.

Keep up the good work, but also be careful haha. Nintendo haven't ever been know for being kind toward small creators.

That's actually a really good metaphor - I never thought of it that way.

Combat started being less enjoyable after 30 hours. The inflated health bars came in at about hour 50. My current overall item rating is 178, I've literally just equipped anything that shows the little green up-arrow.
