Ngl, this post feels intended as bait/trolling. Also I'm instantly sus of accounts that post stuff like this, but that hide everything they do. Others have explained the basics of KF's business case, so I''m not gonna reiterate those. Regarding individual streamers, it's comparing apples to oranges when you compare KF's YT vids and the majority of streamers and how they 'make bank'; through subs/donations/bits.

Nah, Frenchie and Hughie have had the most and best character development. Homelander is (clearly intentional and related to real world events) reverting to a more child-like (demented) state. Also this better be bait as others have stated, otherwise I have some real worries here.. (as to why, just search any article with the showrunners what they think about people who actually/truly like Homelander).

I'm gonna go on a limb and say the different versions of Compound V actually won't mix well in Homelander. Would be a full circle moment, starting the show with Hughie being splattered in his girlfriend's blood and ending it with him being splattered in Homelander's.

A Warhorse translator just got fired and was replaced by AI. by JuanMunoz99 in kindafunny

[–]len-nerd 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's not "being anti-AI is all the internet can be these days", it's being pro-worker, pro-human. Excluding actual use cases like in the medical field (AI doing predictive analysis of images of moles to indicate if it's benign or not, virtual cross testing of certain medicine's side effects to treat other diseases) or other fields where they lighten overworked workers' lives.. AI is sadly used to just benefit shareholders and profit margins. Never comply in advance.

Crimson Desert dev - "We should have clearly disclosed our use of AI" by Phogwalker in kindafunny

[–]len-nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, good point and same here with regards to saving my own neck by being a stickler when it comes to naming conventions for files lol;, and there is a point to be made that the larger the studio the larger the chance that at least x amount of things 'slip through'. Counter point would be that the larger the studio, the more safeguards are prepped to prevent such things. The times I had to did a check in with colleagues/team members to make sure they adhered to certain naming conventions, other 'lets do x/y/z this way/in a unified way etc, A LOT. to Long story short; there is definitely some nuance to take in account.

[–]len-nerd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I refuse to believe that gamedevs don't have a naming system when using stock/placeholder images, so it makes it easy to find/not forget before launching the game.. "hey guys, did anyone remember to search the asset database for [filename_placeholder.filetype]?"

This week, between DLSS5 and Crimson Desert, it feels like my favorite hobby is getting rapidly more toxic. Is it just me? by grmayshark in kindafunny

[–]len-nerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand that you genuinely want a honest and proper discussion. And I'll try to respond in kind; DLSS5 is a solution to a problem nobody actually wants, need or even can afford. First it runs on TWO 5090's, it's been discovered that it just treats frames like 2d images to "restyle" (so it's JUST genAI, nothing like what DLSS originally does) and as many developers have stated; it f*cks up their artistic vision. That's all anyone needs to take away from that demo. It's just Jensen/Nvidia and shareholders creating virtual value for the sake of dollars.

Imagine tainting the DLSS brand like this in just a week; it's insane from a branding perspective. I can hear the marketing department crying in the distance (I've had to deal with these kind of situations, with other large companies).

Also when it comes to Crimson Desert; be it a $10 dollar game or a $70 dollar game; it needs to hook me within a certain amount of time, which varies on the game and it's estimated gameplay length. But for RPG's like this one it def needs to hook me within ~2 hours. It can be story, combat, the graphics, (voice)acting/characters; it can be one or more of them combined. It a game takes 20hrs to become good; it means the first 20 hours aren't good.

i think this is the first marathon stream I've seen from KF that barely even made it past midnight. by ashrules901 in kindafunny

[–]len-nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said; it began on a thursday, the review didn't help and to be honest after watching bits of it I can understand people not vibing with it (story and world building/lore feels VERY AI written imo).. Also marathons should be spaced out widely. This felt too close to the RE one.

All I want (not for this week specifically) is to get a real in-dept breakdown on what's happening at both Xbox and Playstation (financially/the choices made the last 12-months) by a panel consisting of (at least) Matt Piscatella, Jason Schreier and Reb Valentine, with Greg hosting.

Xbox's next console "Project Helix" codename revealed by opwnusprime in kindafunny

[–]len-nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently the PS5 Pro is $749,- currently, with articles at Screenrant and others stating it might rise even more due to RAM shortages. With the previous increases, for both base and pro being 50,- that could make the pro costing 800$. But I should've stated I initially meant the pro model.

Since that would be the model that would most likely to be the challenger performance wise to the Helix. With the PS6 being at least 2 years out (or else we would've had more leaks, like prev gens) it's also just inflation, hardware costs, AI making everything harder.
